And I stayed cooler than when i wear shorts!!! So today i woke up and it was already 85 degrees out, so i was getting dressed and i noticed all of my golf shorts were dirty. I decided to wear my white Addidas clima-cool pants and WOW they were very nice out there in the heat. I am going to be wearing these more often.

I own several pairs of microfiber golf pants by Izod, Greg Norman, and Ralph Lauren that I can wear to court with a nice jacket and tie as well as on the golf course with a golf shirt. They're comfortable and cool. Best of all, they save my pale legs from getting sunburned.

Sometimes you can be much more comfortable by keeping the direct sun from your skin.

I always thought those Middle Eastern people, fully clothed in 40 degree celcius weather were crazy but there you go. Being fully clothed (wtih light fabric) keeps you cooler. I live in Australia and always wear pants when playing golf.

I guess if you like looking ridiculous with shorts and a dress shirt and golf shoes but most people i know wear long pants. I saw a guy with a brigh pink shirt, popped collar, checkered short's and his hat turned around backwards with sunglasses on. The most riduculous looking human i have seen since the 80's.

That's not a golfer it was a "guido".

I always wear pants on the course, no fan of the shorts. I've played in 95-ish degrees without problem, the heat is more exhausting than being intense directly on the skin. On very hot and sunny days, I'll wear a white or beige pant that does not absorb the sun rays as much.

Playing in shorts was always my preference as well until I tried pants. The first time I wore them it was 96*. I sweat like a pig, but then I always do in that heat. The difference was I felt cooler, because the light weight fabric kept wicking the sweat off from me, and allowed it to evaporate. The other part is that, in shorts I have to slather down with sunscreen. Sweating like I do with sunscreen makes me even more uncomfortable. I am a convert, and will be buying more pants.

Not me. I'll continue to wear my shorts and golf sandals when I play in the summer. The sandals would look stupid with long pants, and I just hate long pants in general. I wear them when it's cold out of necessity, not out of preference.

Ridiculous? Sounds like he enjoys having a bit of fun.

You may not realize, but there are people of Italian descent that would find your comment a bit offensive.

This is a pathetic statement. A guido can be anyone and I AM of Italian descent and cannot control how others behave. There is no connection to being Italian and being a guido. They are just morons in NJ participating in a ridiculous style that they made up. If you feel offense to this, you must feel some sort of connection to them. I do not endorse guido behavior any more than I endorse mafioso activity.

I guess

There's nothing ridiculous about it. I'd guess that 90% of golfers across the country play in shorts 90% of the time. It just sounds as if you don't like it.
