Owner of golfwrx posted a thread saying "We're picking up rumblings that Tiger Woods may be parting ways with swing coach, Sean Foley. The rumors started Friday night from sources close to Tiger. "

Thats pretty much all he said so who knows???

What the article said:

Foley was quickly rumored to replace Hank Haney after Haney had announced he was no longer Tiger's coach in May of 2010.

First reports of Woods working with Foley came in August of 2010, when Foley was seen videotaping Tiger's swing during a practice round at the PGA Championship. It is believed that Sean O'Hair and Hunter Mahan, both Foley disciples, had a hand in the player/coach matchmaking. ( O'Hair recently announced his own split from Foley. )

Woods finished tied for 4th place at this year's Masters, but his overall results have been somewhat inconsistent since he began working with Foley. The 14 major championship winner has cited steady improvement in his understanding/execution of Foley's methods in interviews. The pairing has been met with critical scrutiny in professional golf circles.

Woods announced he will be competing in the upcoming Players Championship after withdrawing from this week's Wells Fargo Championship due to injury."

Seems unlikely, with Tiger just starting to own the new swing quite nicely at the Masters, but stranger things have happened. Maybe he's going even further to the dark side... ;-)

With the rumors about Foley consulting other teachers, I can't say that would surprise me.

if you mean a SnT teacher, I highly doubt he would. Hes trying to improve his public image and SnT doesn't exactly have a good public image (whether its deserved or not doesnt matter). Foley was actually pretty accepted publicly pre Tiger

He should just go to P&B; right away, skip the middle-man.

Tiger has been progressing well, but if Foley needs to check with other teachers all the time on what to do, I'm sure it won't give Tiger a whole lot of confidence in him. These rumors may of course be false too.

I think tigers swing looks better than ever right now, even better than 10 years ago.  If this is true then it's a really bad move IMO.

He probably couldn't play with that swing, it is completely different to how he plays now, heavily reliant on timing. It also was pretty rough on his body, the harsh lower body movement wasn't great for his knee and it really only worked because he practiced much more than he does now. Tiger is looking for longevity in his swing, obviously he believes his new move can do that. In interviews Tiger has said he hasn't hit his driver as well as he is now, and is hitting the ball pin high more often, something he says he hadn't been doing.

Tiger's not going back to Harmon.

Tiger's also not ditching Foley, I don't think. It's not even been nine months and he struck the ball well at Augusta.

But if he did switch, it may be to Grant Waite. They practice together at Isleworth. But don't take that comment as "he is probably switching." I still don't think he is.

I don't see Tiger switching, he can't afford to lose another year or two trying to get another swing down.  If he did switch it would have to be with someone that shared Foley's swing views so they wouldn't want to overhaul it once again.

Tiger's not going anywhere. He stuck it out with Haney for six years. It hasn't even been a year yet with Foley (officially).

There's nothing wrong with Tiger's swing, he just needs to hole a few more putts, get it together between the ears and stay healthy.

I'll say this as politely as I can. The particular website in question loves to endorse rumor, innuendo, and sometimes outright hatred of Tiger Woods. Just saying, consider the source.

By the way. What if he does part ways with Foley? So what?

    • Agree. The next omission needs to be that ridiculous team concept. Nobody cares about a team when they really don’t represent anything except being a group of diminished morality and/or washed up pro golfers. Or wait, we’ve also got total nobodies who’ve accomplished nothing who now get a participation trophy! Doesn’t that sound invigorating!
    • LIV moving to 72 holes is a subtle admission that 54 holes was nothing but a joke all along.
    • I was going to start a thread, but this seems like the place.  Yesterday I played my matchplay match at my local club.  My opponent is a notorious sandbagger by reputation.  The pro once pulled his tournament rounds from the past several years and said that it is impossible his tournament rounds are legit based on his handicap. here is what happened last night.  I am getting 4 shots from him.  His current handicap index is 15.3 i shot 45 on the front.   Was down 4 after nine, he had three birdies and shot even par. I was closed out on thirteen, we halved with a bogey.  That bogey put him one over par for his round.   He then took a triple on 14 and then left. As if that wasn’t bad enough, he lied about his score.   I wrote down on my scorecard what the score was.  He put higher values that didn’t affect the outcome of the match to pad his score and apparently make it not look as obvious.   He shot 36 on the front, but claimed 40.  The higher values for his score were in the online scoring app our club uses.  He did it this way: I won #7. He had a 2 foot putt for par that if he made would still lose the hole.   He picked up and said it didn’t matter since I won.  He took a 5 instead of a 4 after picking up a gimme. on #8 his approach shot on this par 4 was 8 inches.  I verbally conceded the putt but I had hit into a hazard.  I finished the hole with a 6.  Instead of birdie he put in for par. on #9, another par 4, his approach was to 18 inches.  I missed my par putt and then knowing how close I verbally conceded the putt.  I missed my bogey putt, he never conceded mine.  Instead of birdie he put down a bogey. He padded his score by 4 shots on the front.  And then did again on 10.  I rinsed one and made 6 on a par 4.  I putted out and he was fishing balls out of the lake so I drove off to the next tee.  He had 15 feet laying two but claimed a 5.     love to know the odds of a 15 handicap being even thru 12 holes on a round of golf.
