Where is the info. I want to know so much more about all my favorite stars....? It sucks we have to wait for someone to get beat up, crash their car, divorce their wife... I am sure everyone has everyday issues that we could hear about and not judge...

Just want more info on the players, injury list is really all... The rest is up in the air. Each week we have guys WD before play starts and never get an explanation as to why... You never hear of a football player not showing up for the game without an explanation as to WHY...

On the PGA site or any other news we get.... "X" has withdrawn from tournament. no futher information.

@Quadhole , why do you care? Honest question, because I don't. None of my business.

Is this thread closely related to the " " thread?

Just looking at Fowlers past couple of years results. He never goes LOW, never goes too high. Last year I dont see a round under 66. Very consistant at being in the middle of everything.... Think he needs to workout and gain 10 yards. Could or would make the difference in his game.

Maybe the attention and lack of needing to win is a problem. Not for him, but for Puma....  Sooner or later he has to win or goodbye big contract...

Great fantasy player if your looking for making the cut... With the other young guys coming along, he better step up soon. That sucks too because he did so well in the majors last year. Too bad 4 tops 5 dont get you a win... The "IT" factor...

Fowler is a great representative for Puma, I think they selected him more for the image he projects than the number of Majors he's projected to win.  IMO aging is more of a threat to his contract than his current level of play is.

Agreed. Huh?

NFL players are under contract with a team.....golfers get paid by finishing well in tournaments....nobody's business why a guy doesn't play any week

My guess is there is a gambling angle to this......I've certainly thought the same thing about getting inside PGA tour info (there is a guy that posts on a gambling site that is very tight with a tour caddy.....he doesn't post very often, but the information for gambling purposes is usually right on the money).....

I can't think of a set of circumstances where let's say a guy misses a putt or worse, the cut, and he says, "yea, my kid came home with a bunch of F's and it totally threw off my stroke."

And the Duffner divorce thread was a disaster as well.  TST is not mature enough to discuss that kind of thing.  That's why it is so entertaining!

Come to think of it, this thread is circling the drain.  No definition.  I'm out.

Wanting to know things like a players family, the relationship issues etc. sounds a bit stalkerish to me.

What they do outside the media gaze is there own business. I wouldnt want strangers to know that i had a stomach bug on a certain date or i had a barney eith the wife over not cleaning the bathroom to her liking (again!)

@Quadhole , unless you already have...i'd definitely get a twitter + facebook account and follow every pro golfer you're interested in. Subsequently, follow every golf channel/golf news you can find. The pros post interesting things, but the golf news feeds give the dirt.

Here's a couple recent posts on facebook/twitter. Good quote from Poulter.

    • My two cents? Don't. As a beginner that's interested in learning about the golf swing, you'll find yourself consuming a lot of information, most of which isn't even relevant to your own swing. You need to learn you can't think your way to a good golf swing. Focus on the one thing that you're working on and doing that on every swing, come what may. And remember, mishits happen.
    • Day 6 (7 May 24) - More work in the backyard focused on tempo in addition to setup.  Worked with 6 and 7 irons hitting hard foam balls - used the old MacGregor irons to mix it up a little.
    • No! lol. But they have to be in the right sequence to play mid-handicap golf or little better. Mostly. And even in that there is range/margin for error in the motions and positions that most normal humans can handle. It helps if you have a decent idea of how a golf club moves around the body like you would any other equipment sports (baseball and hockey might be the closest) After all, fairways are 40 yards wide. Don't overthink it. Be diligent in getting basics right. I will concede that it is harder than it sounds but it certainly is not exact angle/exact position/exact degree of bend/exact speed/exact facial expression, etc, every.... single.... time or the result is horrible death.
    • Looking to play in the Severna Park Golf league and it got rained out the first three weeks. I know the course is being renovated so it is not in great shape but the location is easy for me and I would love to meet some other golfers in my area. Anyone here in Maryland Annapolis area?
    • I like to look at the positives.  Overall you are fairly consistent down the center with most shots 20 yards or less off center.  On most fairways that should be in play.  Sure, you had some very short duds, but also if you look there is a good cluster in the 110-125 yard range.  Sure, we would all like to be longer, but knowing your typical shot is more important than trying to hit the 7-Iron 175 Yards.  Just take more club for longer shots and do not worry about it.  Your distances may increase as you improve over time so do not get caught up on that now.
