Great information.   How the heck are courses in states like Michigan and Minnesota going to recover if maintenance isn't allowed?   This sucks.

I had a picture of my old country club that closed abruptly, but I can't find it. It isn't pretty. They go to 💩 very quickly.

Well at least they can do maintenance in Maryland, but still planning to sneak across the WV or VA border to play.

What stinks is RI courses are open, but out of staters are required to self quarantine for 14 days before going to local businesses. The police came by my cottage while my contractor was there.

Yeah that's what I hear. But at least courses are open… we're still closed in PA. This Sunday/Monday it's supposed to be in the 60s.

And I just read this.

The men parked at a McDonald's before a car with local plates dropped them at the course, said police.

I am so ready to be back on the golf course, so ready to hang out with buds and budettes at the local watering hole(s), so ready not to have to disinfect everything I might touch, so ready to stop washing my hands 20 times a day, so ready to not feel like I'll die if I grocery shop, so ready for everything to open again... so ready...

(But did anyone notice that May 5, the potential day we go off this is Cinco de Mayo?! Margaritas all around! And the day this all started in Washington: National Melba Toast Day!)

Yeah...

I'll wager a margarita that this is extended through at least the end of June.

I won't accept that wager because you are probably correct... sadly.  But if businesses/courses do open on May 5 I will send you a margarita in celebration, made with clean hands and wearing a mask.

Do you need a reason for a margarita?

    • Yes, this is the 2024 model. DSG ruined what Callaway perfected for most golfers. A darn good 3 piece golf ball. Now it's a 2 piece cheap ball. To me a 2 piece ball is fine and a 3 piece budget ball is better. I prefer a slightly harder ball, something in the 65-75 compression range that will perform similar to the old Gamer. The Titleist tru-feel is pretty good. I planned on giving Maxfli straightfli a try.
    • Is that the current generation Gamer? Another old standby for a firm and inexpensive ball is Pinnacle.  There are two models, the Rush and the Soft, but I don’t know what compression they are.
    • Good advice, but according to DSG website it is a 45 compression ball. My current ball is the Top-flite Gamer at 70. 45 is too low for me to go.
    • The 3 piece Maxfli Trifli is 2 dozen for $35.  The Trifli does not feel as soft as the Maxfli Softfli, which is why I like it. Other options would be one of the Srixons, which have a buy 2 get 1 free offer.
    • I have been carrying a 7 wood more often this year.  It’s especially handy if you have a downhill lie to an uphill green.  It’s also handy if the rough on the course is deep.
