I think when one of us labels himself as an old codger, as I have done more than a few times, its not unfair for a younger guy to agree.  I too don't like some of the current styles, and I too am admittedly an old codger.  All of you young whippersnappers out there, feel free to pile on!  :beer:

It is actually quite shocking that we in 2021 are having this discussion. It's mindblowing that shorts are not allowed many placed where the temperatures reaches +30-40°C in 2021. I'm pretty sure that close to 100% of the tourpro's would wear shorts in the hottest locations/events if it was allowed. In all other sports you wear clothes that doesn't hinder your performance. Playing golf in 40°C in long pants is just crazy. It's time to lighten the rules on dresscode on courses around the world a bit now, we are not living in the 19th century anymore. PS! I don't mind those Van Rooyen joggers either, they're ok. 🙂   

In the bag: Callaway Mavrik SZ 10,5 driver (X stiff), Cobra King 4 wood (Stiff, 2006 model), Callaway Mavrik irons 4 - P+A (stiff), Cobra King Pur wedges 52, 56 and 60 (stiff) and Odessey white steel putter.  Very happy with the set and the gapping.

As I understand it, the PGA Tour is largely self-governing.  If the players really want to play in shorts, they can change the dress code.

And they don't because on the advice of their essentially "elected" officials, they realize that sponsors wouldn't like this, etc.

I actually find pants are cooler than shorts.  Hot weather and the sun directly on my skin is hotter than with the pants on.  Use cotton type pants and you will enjoy it more

      Long time creeper, but had to join today to ask a question. Today was playing in our clubs Sunday money group. We played all 18 holes and was settling up after the last hole. The groups about 9 guys. Most I play with every week. A few I play with once a month or every other month.  I shot well and was owe a small 3 digit amount from a few players. That's when the guy I don't play with often walks up and says he isn't paying because I had too many clubs in my bag. We walked to my bag and I counted my clubs and I didn't have too many. He then states look at the back your bag there is another club. Low and behold my 7 years daughters putter is in the umbrella hole as its been for the last year when she stated coming with me and wants to putt on the greens. All the other guys looked at him but he refuses to pay me out but pays everyone else. Whats your thoughts. All the other guys paid me out.

      Brian Campbell winning twice this year with a low/mid 160s ball speed is amazing in this time and day. Contrast that with last week's winner Potgieger who moves it comfortably at 190+. Crazy.

      Day 66 (6 Jul 25) - took a break yesterday as I’m dealing with a very sore small toe on my right foot (and we were at the beach place with no golf gear). Today resumed, post TS Chantal’s passing by, with some easy 7i’s into the net followed by some longer shots with hard foam balls.  Ended with some 9i swings - all around focused on weight forward.
