Titleist TSR 2 #4 Hybrid

Scotty Cameron Newport 2 Select putter to replace the Spider Tour X TM putter. I like the mallet but I missed the Scotty more so I got another one.

Please provide feedback when you have some experience under your belt if you don't mind. I have an older model I don't use. I have a TSR driver that I am giving a second go for a few rounds, but that's another story.

Not the last thing I bought or bought anything at all but Sun Day Red stuff seems a bit overpriced for it essentially being rebranded Nike apparel. I'm hearing the resale prices are wild though. Either way, I highly doubt I will indulge as I'm not much of a brand guy or a collector. But to keep up my super nice guy image have never turned down a gift though 😇

Tiger doesn't seem to sell stuff like MJ or Kanye did.

Broke the head of a Stealth Plus on a warm up. TaylorMade send me a new head but I decided to upgrade it to the new IQ10 LS and pay the difference. While I was waiting for the 8° head to arrive at the store I messed around with all the multi brand putts they had available. I instantly liked a black TaylorMade Spider, not the new one but very similar. The weight felt perfect. Big line in the middle for easy alignment. I was playing and old Zebra so the change in technology and feel was huge.

Fast review of both clubs..

Driver QI10 LS. I always hit to ball up in the sky. I was playing the stealth at 7° with a 60g X low flight shaft and I was still hitting it pretty high. With the QI10 playing it at 6° now is almost hard for me to hit it high, with the same shaft the ball comes out lower and with less spin. so I'm really happy with the change.

Putter Spider. I love it. It took me an afternoon to figure out how to grip it (it comes with a superStroke grip) but after that it all came into place. More stable on short putts and a good weight to swing smoothly on long putts and with added forgiveness over my old zebra.

New clubs came in this morning and I happened to be working in the area so I picked them up.

PING G430 Max 3W (-1.5°) with PING Tour 2.0 Black 75, X-Stiff at -1/2"

PING G430 3H with PING Tour 2.0 Chrome 85, X-Stiff

Those replace my old fairway wood and hybrid, making all 14 clubs in my bag fitted. I'm going to need new excuses for bad shots 😜

I'm a big fan of playing a 3 wood shorter than "standard" too. I got mine cut down around a full inch and my both my dispersion and quality of strike improved since doing so with no loss of distance.

My golfing buddy uses ping irons. Not a bad club in the bag he would say. When I asked him his favorite. Without hesitation he said” four”. lol.

Even at just 1/2" shorter (5W length) I just feel more comfortable setting up to it, especially off the deck. I'm probably going to look into playing a shorter driver when I get around to replacing mine.

They make good clubs. It's not surprising given that they've been in the business for decades.

Someone in town was selling a used whygolf pressure plate. I grabbed it. It’s good to remind me about getting the weight forward but I think the big value will be in practicing ball below the feet lies that I really struggle with lol

    • Good advice.  When you see a golfer taking short steps, looking down at the ground, it's probably checking for temporary water.  There are plenty of cases were just hitting it from the bad lie is better than where you would drop it. Like hitting of a cart path.
    • Yea I find it ridiculous people having an issue that he could drop in the fairway. Every relief situation is its own instance. You re-assess after a drop. Sometimes the drop is in your favor or not.  Too many scramble only golfers commenting on golf rulings. Usually scrambles you need to maintain the same lie if you hit with in a club length of the ball. 😉
    • MSN J. J. Spaun relief from sprinkler head under fire for not being in the spirit of the game. While I understand the advantage he gains by dropping a ball that ended up in rough in the fairway doesn't seem to kosher in lot of people's eyes, but I suspect this happens more often than lot of people realize and players take the entitled relief every time when the opportunity present itself. Not fair to call him out as a person of 'no integrity' IMO.  A lot of people do not know that both fairway and rough are part of the same general area and ROG does not distinguish them as far as relief is concerned.
    • Jack played in 7 tournaments in 1986. He was on his way out. He was not training or trying to be the best in the world. Honestly, he just caught some good golf at the right time.  Who says Jack wasn't battling injuries at that time either? A lot of stuff wasn't reported on until post 2000 in terms of covering athletes.  At what capacity? He can play, but he can't compete at any sort of level for the PGA or Senior Tour.  Yes, most of them walk away.
