Another consideration. This is the first RC since the inception of  LIV golf. Only one USA player Koepka is from the LIV tour.

What's to "consider" about it?

Almost all of the Euro players are ineligible. DJ and Reed have not played well. Bryson literally put his name on the lawsuit against the PGA Tour players.

I have a simple question here.  I get the whole LIV golf vs PGA fight.  But what should the two captains be looking for.  The best players who can help USA / Europe win.  If that means you take a player everybody else hates but guarantees you three points, you do that.  If the player is an amateur or plays for LIV, so what.  The most important thing is winning the Ryder Cup, not picking your friends, people who play in the PGA tour or are nice.

Or am I missing something here??

🤷‍♂️

What's in the bag

  • Taylor Made r5 dual Draw 9.5* (stiff)
  • Cobra Baffler 4H (stiff)
  • Taylor Made RAC OS 6-9,P,S (regular)
  • Golden Bear LD5.0 60* (regular)

You're missing that:

  • On the European side, they're literally not eligible.
  • On the U.S. side, "everybody hates" might describe one or two of the players on their OWN team, and so one player could screw with the mojo of the other 11.

Well one thing you're missing is that there is no player that guarantees you three points.

Another is that even if there were, their effect on the rest of the team could cost them more than three points.

But then again, what the hell do I know?

This is not a new thing. Captains has been picking players with worse current form, but a strong cup history for a long time. Both on the US and Europe team. We’ll never know if other players would have done better after the cup is concluded.

You want entertainment? Then next RC, just pick the names out of a hat two weeks before the RC. No automatic spots, no captains picks. Just 12 dudes blindsided. The captains would be McCord and Feherty. Feherty is with LIV now but won't matter since there is now talk of a PGAT/LIV combined tour in 2025.

OK, so who's your captains pick? John Daly with Tommy Two Gloves Gainey as co-captain. Let's look deep in the basement. Mac O'Grady with Ken Green as co-captain.

We are still talking golf, not go-go bar type entertainment, aren't we? Lol

Team match play very very different than individual stroke play. If I were any of the other 11 players I would feel great about being paired with JT.

pretty happy with the EURO capt picks ... bring it on... my money on the EURO ...Alberg to have a brilliant rookie performance

Go Foxy Go

Since the Arnie:

•62% of his rounds were 70+

•80% of his pressure rounds (Sunday or Friday when missing cut ) were 70+

• 41% of his rounds over par

•only went low twice (at docile River Highlands)

Something’s going on with JT. Not Ryder Cup material. Hoping Zach sees something in his crystal ball.

What do you think about Meronk getting snubbed?

Meronk will go to LIV for 63 million.

Keegan will go to LIV for 97 million.

Finau will go to LIV for 50 bucks.

But seriously, I'd take Meronk over Lowery.

A little anti - northeast perhaps? Blowing over BOTH Bradley and Young?!?

You honestly think that ZJ factored in where every player was from and used that as a consideration factor to not choose someone? Absurd.

Also I highly doubt he "blew over" Bradley and Young, it was likely a tough decision that came down to some intangibles.

Both teams employ a team of consultants to pour over stats, analyze course fit, pairings, scenarios, who should play what ball based on spin rates, who should tee off on what holes based on proximity from certain yardages and certain lies, etc. It's HIGHLY unlikely that ZJ simply "blew over" Bradley and Young when making his picks.

    • Day 1: 12/10/2024 I've actually been practicing and working on my game, but now it's time to start this challenge again. I'm coming off a great lesson yesterday with Yoda, ... a bit too technical though 🤣.  So, today I spent like a half hour in front of the mirror working on something I'm going to call PPJ. It's kind of my new priority piece. My plan is to work on it in front of a mirror for a little while until it feels a little less foreign (could be a couple days, could be a month). Then I'll take it to the garage and hit balls into the net again, perhaps a week, perhaps longer.  Then finally I'll take it to the range and see how that goes. My thought is to avoid any focus on where the ball goes for a while. I don't want to make any adjustments to the movement based on ball flight, either consciously or subconsciously unit I get the movement closer to the way I want it. That's the plan anyway.
    • Yep, it was probably, "Another one of those, send it!"
    • Started the Stack recently after toying with the idea for a while For me the grit score is a great idea, you feel a responsibility to stick to the programme. Hopefully see some progress along the lines of other posters. Will keep everyone informed how i get on. For reference I'm a new dad (8 months) and live in Scotland so its very much the off season so i have gone from little if any golf to basically none so I'm realistically stacking at the moment without hitting any balls. My garage doesn't have enough head clearance to hit balls in but i'm contemplating getting a decent net so i can stack and maintain my technique in the off season. Happy stacking, if anyone has any questions feel free to ask!
