Everyone, go into your ShotScope Dashboard (https://dashboard.shotscope.com), click "Performance" and then "Putting" and choose "2023" from the "Time" (top left).

What is your number of holes per three-putt?

3putts.jpg

FWIW, my number in 2022 was… 351. And my last 15 is… 262.

Mine says 6.2 but says 45 holes. Not sure what the 45 holes refers to.

My number in 2023 is 6.2 (last 5 is 9) and for 2022 holes/3 putt was 9.5. I had a rough putting start in 2023, but as you can see from the number for last 5 am getting back to where I was last year.

Hit fewer greens so you can chip it and have your first putt closer. Then two putt for bogey 😃

I don't actually keep these stats since our club app just keeps score and I don't have the patience to keep score on two apps at the same time while playing.  But I know anything over 25 to 30 feet I am at serious risk of three putting.  Sometimes, when I am in a putting groove, I will get my distance control on longer putts, but that is rare, maybe 25 percent of the time.  I am fortunate that many of the courses I play have smaller greens so I don't wind up with these crazy long putts and I am able to two putt regularly

What's in the bag

  • Cobra Baffler 4H (stiff)
  • Taylor Made RAC OS 6-9,P,S (regular)
  • Golden Bear LD5.0 60* (regular)

Unfortunately, this is exactly what’s happened over past year…3-putt stats markedly better while GIR dropped, no improvement in overall scores. There’s always next year. Hoping to make it to 3.4-3.6 while improving GIR  ☺️

I don't have shotscope, so I can't do this, but I'd guess it's a little over 18 - somewhere around 24 or so. For what it's worth Maverick McNealy has the best PGA Tour number I think with 0.18 three putts per round, which works out to 102.6 holes per three putt, so 300+ is otherworldly good. Small greens?

I don't have Shot Scope, but log my putts in the GHIN app. It says I three-putt 4% of the time, which is 25 holes per three-putt by my math.
