Hey, to each their own. I have just never liked Nike equipment all that much, and the Covert driver was possibly the worst driver I ever hit. I had a good buddy that was the Nike Golf rep for our area and I still wouldn't play their stuff. But I am all for sticking with what works regardless of what anyone else says so good luck.

I found Nike's vapor drivers actually surprisingly good. I played one this summer when I had to rent clubs once. It performed pretty darn well. Not as great as my normal Callaway driver, but pretty close. I wasn't really expecting to like that club (at all, really).

Lots of new stuff the past month, new bag, new irons, new wedges, new putter. Funny story with the putter, it's not mine. Buddy lent it to me in Scottsdale when I couldn't get my bags out of airport security. Putted well with it that day and he said I could keep it 😎 Had some great putting rounds with it since.

Using the new i210 irons for a couple weeks. Five rounds in, five rounds under par. Was due for some new wedges (was using standard sole Glide 2.0 wedges) so experimenting with the Glide 2.0 wide sole 54 and 58. Went to stronger lofts with the wedges since the i210's go about a half club farther.

Love the i210 U-wedge, exactly the kind of club I was looking for.

For what it's worth, I have a Nike driver, irons, and putter, and I'm pretty happy with them all.

Here’s my anachronistic bag. Fairly modern in the woods, hybrids and wedges, but antique irons and putter.

Driver- Callaway Big Bertha Alpha

3W-Titleist 913F 15°

3H-Callaway X2Hot 19°

Irons- Wilson Staff FG-17, 3-9 iron (Soon to be joined by PW)

SW-Vokey 54°

LW-Cleveland RTX 2.0 60°

Putter-Wilson Staff 8813

I swap the iron sometimes with a set of 1988 Wilson Staff Goosenecks that are in basically pristine condition. The chrome is beautiful and I hit them fairly well, but they don’t have the same sweet feel as the FG-17s, so these are my primary set.

Here's my bag. Lots of Callaway, PING Driver and Hybrid, Cobra Wedges and Never Compromise Putter. Don't have any issues with the clubs, still working on my swing (playing for less than 1 year). Have been practicing every week and really loving this sport.

I did a little horse trading this week and wound up with a Taylormade M2 3H Rescue to mate up with my 4H. Time to update my bag notes/signature and post a photo when i get some time.

Taylormade M2 driver @ 9.5*+2

TM Hi-Toe 60* wedge,

Bushnell Tour V3 rangefinder

(Two WITB threads so I’d better post a pic in this one)

Clubs in winter storage mode. Still sorting things out and deciding which wedges to use. The {#} brackets are just my mental note to decide and track what is in the bag and what is in reserve and what is on the way out. TM = Taylormade for when I didn’t spell it out.

I’m sort of undecided on the Vokeys and I haven’t tried the ATV’s yet. And I also have no realistic idea how far I hit any of these clubs since they are all new to me for the most part over the last several years and due to many reasons I haven’t had the time to work with them yet. All part of my 2019 Goals posted in the goals thread.

The first completely new set of clubs I’ve had (all purchased at the same time) in 35 years.  I didn’t set out to necessarily end up with everything from the same brand, but that’s how it worked out, and I’m really pleased with the entire set.

All Titleist except for the TM Spider putter.  TS2 driver and 3-wood, 818 hybrids, AP2’s with KBS Tour 90’s, and Vokey SM7’s.  Lighter weight, softer flex shafts, across the board.

Sorry to resurrect an old post but I’d thought I’d share my budget set up. I put this together for $310 the only thing in this pic I had previously was the odyssey putter. all was bought In the last 3 months, bag included. If I had to pay new prices I don’t think I would have gotten back into the game. Now I just need to learn how to play...72F0F107-382C-4EB2-987C-143A8A71D2F2.thumb.jpeg.d3cbf1f7e6ce670e2fa83cbc8b647c82.jpeg

@jmanbooyaa, what bag is that? It looks super large (could just be that upper pocket throwing me off). I rock an old 2 wheel pull cart (can only push it because the wheels go all wonky if I pull), and my fairly large Titleist lightweight cart bag (14 divider) fits just perfect.

I'll post mine up after I clean my clubs the next time. I tend to play without getting any of the dirt/mud off after shots/rounds/months. Probably not good for the scores, but it is great for playing quick.

@Bonvivant it’s the Sun mountain C-130. That big pocket near the top middle is for a range finder. Lots of pockets on this bag.  Put it on my 4 wheel caddy tech. It fits well. One thing, the damn umbrella holder sticks out a bit and lies on the top of wheel. May need to get a 3 wheel cart now.

I've been contemplating moving in to this millennium and ditching my old 2 wheeled cart. I suppose that I should bring my bag along before I purchase to make sure it fits well. Your bag looks similar to mine (maybe a touch deeper) and it's good to have this info. I bought a pass to the munis around here for the year, but didn't take either of the cart options (50 or 100 rides), so I think that a 3-4 wheeled cart is in order to easy my wrists during the countless rounds I will be playing. When I get my new wheels (and clean my clubs) I will definitely be posting in this thread again. Thanks for the tips!

    • Day 243 (2 Jan 25) - Grandson directed drills today - he wanted to hit easy pitches into the holes of the Martin bird house (had it at ground level) - it is doable but it calls for a perfectly executed shot.  He came close a couple of times.  For me it’s about distance control and such.  Drill two - me hit same foam balls to him while he’s in the swing saucer - into a slight wind…now it’s distance control plus anticipating the wind.  A fun exercise - got really close on a number of shots.  Drill three - take his youth Cobra SW and hit flops into to the foam ball basket while he was holding it. Great eye-hand work for him - wedge control for me.  That little wedge  works well.  By the end my junior coach was done and I was too….
    • Going to give this a try for a while and see if it sticks.  Day 1 Today was some full practice: 30 minutes of range work focused on coordinating weight transfer based on Evolvr feedback 10 minutes putting speed control work 10 minutes chipping practice with random targets 5 minutes bump and run work with 7 iron
    • Day 23: 1/2/2025 Had a great range session today. It was downright frigid this morning at the range, but the overhead heater made it tolerable. I started off working on my PPJ swing thought. Some slower, swings, somewhat exaggerating the movements. Then I switched focus and just hit the 6-iron about a half dozen times without thinking. I filmed two of these swings to send to Yoda.  After that, I worked my way up and down the bag (random practice... yay.) Hitting one shot with each club aiming at a specific target. I tried to focus on where and not how. Over all, I was pretty impressed with my results.  If you categorize each shot as either good, bad or good enough. I would say nearly all of them were either in the good or good enough category. Again, yay.  I'm going to do some more mirror work tonight, looking at my videos I think I can still improve what I'm doing. But over all, I was really happy with today's range session. I feel like I've had a giant leap forward in my swing. We shall see if the progress can continue.  Yay.
    • Day 169: did a stack session. Worked on the early backswing stuff with slow rehearsal swings during rest breaks as well.
    • I really think it's just to keep people from doing silly stuff like saying "Oh, yeah, that spike mark will be my ball marker." or "That slightly greener blade of grass." Then when they go to replace their ball they have literally no idea which spike mark or blade of grass.
