I miss the golf channel classics...I used to love watching those old tournament highlights,,,used to be on 2 or .3 times a day. Now all infomercials...

Like working on the swing,,score means nothing to me. Might just go to the range and give up playing... ( might happen)

I watch past tournaments on YouTube. While not comprehensive, people do post full rounds. Don't have YT on your TV? Chromecast is a cheap solution.

Season 3 of Homeland got better with episodes 4 and 5.

The first three were tough to get through, even with the anticipation of the new season.

I just wanted to add that last night's episode of Castle was pretty good (for regular network TV).

Castle and Beckett always have this dichotomy - she's a pragmatist, and he's always looking for mob connections or black ops or some such. They play off each other well and the show's pretty funny overall just from those two characters and their interplay.

In last night's episode Castle's dreams came true and it was hilarious to watch him discover the hidden tomb, and the lost treasure, and all that. I enjoyed it. Usually network TV  I watch as background noise while doing work, but Castle I watch more than "use as background noise" because of stuff like this. Is it otherwise pretty formulaic and blah? Yes. But it has its moments, and last night had more than its fair share.

Yeah, this is probably the wife's and my favorite show.  It is very formulaic, yet unlike a lot of other shows, it hasn't gotten stale for us yet at all.  Even after the "they finally got together" cliche, which usually ends up being a death sentence.  We haven't watched this weeks yet, though. ;)

You're right about how it's managed to survive beyond the "they got together" bit.

Let me know how you enjoy this week's show. I think it's good. Even the Alexis/Pi (Pie?) stuff is well done.

I have to eat crow @iacas and @Golfingdad as I am now fully addicted to breaking bad. Love the show. I should not mention this in the same post as it is probably some sort of blaspheme, but I have watched a couple episodes of Arrow and am slightly entertained in a guilty pleasure sort of way. It is little more than a sappy batman ripoff, but dang it he shots a bow and he is not afraid to use it. No letting the law try to do what it I supposed to. I love bows...;)

I don't mind Arrow. Taken with a grain of salt it's quite enjoyable. Even though sometimes the acting on it is quite second rate, it's kept me entertained. I finished the first season of Banshee the other day. This could be one of my new favorite shows. Over the top violence, gratuitous nudity, and shady characters. What's not to like?

Agree that the acting is not the best but arrow is still very entertaining and love how it connects to batman!

Only saw 1 episode of The Returned and it looks really good. You can get it for free from iTunes. Not really about zombies. Some holy s&^t like Lost moments. I loved the first few seasons of Lost and nothing has come close since in terms of mythology mystery. Lately, the broadcast networks and even cable, come out with fewer and fewer shows that I like. Sundance Channel with this, Rectify and Top of Lake have filled in some of the gap for me.

Thanks. Been on a heavy Zevon kick for months now. Sleepy Hollow returned this week, with the addition of John Noble from Fringe. Makes me kind of sad it's only a ten episode season.

Also started watching Black Mirror. Warning: NSFW - language. Second episode of Les Revenants is piling on the questions, but still good. Gotta give high marks to international tv.

    • Interesting that it's no penalty, but then again, I can't imagine someone would purposefully put their foot out there in this situation or one like it.  And then there was the time someone purposefully deflected his own ball during a major, but that's very different too. The only time I can recall a ball I hit hitting another player or their equipment was ages ago -- over a decade and a half ago.  I had a 3' putt for an 89 and someone (a random pairing, not someone I knew) decided it was a good time for goaltending practice.  That wouldn't fall under this rule, though (and it wasn't in a tournament anyway). Thanks for continuing to share these, Dave!  I always find these interesting.
    • Day 51 (29 Apr 26) - Worked with a few of the golf team kids plus my grandson (he’s too young for the team as it’s middle-high school age and he’ll be 10 Sat).  He put on a small hitting clinic (hitting off the same tees as the rest of the boys) - one of the older kids called him a “coach”.  Worked in a few shots for myself - had the light bag: driver, 7w, 4 - 6 - 8 - Pw - Sw (DCI 962’s except the Sw a 981) and Zebra putter….got in some great tee shots, a couple of recovery and an awesome up and down for bogie: 55 yds out, hitting 4th shot due to 2nd getting tangled in limbs - see the window I need to hit for a tight spinner with the Sw - nail it to a postage letter distance from the cup for a tap in bogie….my kind of practice.
    • Day 21, April 29.  Before going to work this morning, I worked in my indoor practice room for 20 minutes.   This was entirely 6-iron shots with the usual step.  Video yesterday showed me that I'm still straightening my trail leg too much (leading to the backswing length issue I've been working to fix), so I focused on not doing that in my rehearsal swings.
    • Exactly correct.   I was absolutely certain about the penalty (none here), but the bit about where they play from can be really confusing the first time you read it.  In my big paper rule book, i used colored highlighters to make it clear.  Good thing I did, at the Cascades there's little to no cell service, so using the rules app on the phone wasnn't possible.
    • Taking a crack it, but looks pretty clear. 11.1  Ball in Motion Accidentally Hits Person or Outside Influence. a. No Penalty to Any Player If a player’s ball in motion accidentally hits any person (including the player) or outside influence: There is no penalty to any player. This is true even if the ball hits the player, the opponent or any other player or any of their caddies or equipment. Reading further down it looks like they have to play the ball as it lies. No replay from the previous spot.
