My viewing experience was ruined.

Telecast started at 5 am. Was looking forward to the next three hours' telecast and quickly checked Golf Channel to see how Allenby was doing and saw the headline.

Pity, because it would have been exciting watching the finish live.

In the race of life, always back self-interest. At least you know it's trying.

I have no idea if DJ uses recreational drugs so it wouldn't be fair for me to suggest he does.

That said and to answer your question I'd think it would be more difficult to come back and win after a long hiatus due to injury where practice might not be possibe versus a suspension where you would have plenty of time to work on your game.

That's the way I lean as well. Not many people come back from an injury and finish T19, 1 in their first two events.

Hmmm, this thread has gone 4 whole pages with the Next Big Thing in contention while the Memorial thread went 19 pages despite the Next Big Thing missing the cut.

Who moves the needle????

Just askin'.

But then again, what the hell do I know?

I don't think it comes as a shock to anyone that the only real answer to that question is Tiger Woods.

I think that recreational drug suspension is a possibility but I don't think they could have kept it hidden from the media. As for the injury if he actually took his time to get back to 100% I'd think he could comeback and get a win. Plus he got some help from the other guys at the top to get the win.

I was too busy to watch but after seeing the results, I am quite happy. Congrats to DJ. And it was great to see  Daly doing well. He is having a good year.

Also, consider how athletic Dustin is. A person of his stature and physical ability can recover from an injury, especially with physical therapy in ways most folks can't.

Plus, weed is a great anti-inflammatory...just sayin'...

The PGA Tour doesn't publicly comment on fines or suspensions.

Yep.  They said he was lifting/loading a jet ski onto a trailer and pulled something in his back.  It happens.  I guess 'Burnergate' is a more interesting story, though?  Just glad to see he is back and in form.  He is dangerous if he can move the ball around like he did in Memphis.  He just might be ready for that first Major?

The drug suspension may be true, but it's all rumor at this point.  I would be pretty upset if that were me and I had a legit injury and people were saying I'm a pothead.

Agreed.

DJ seem's like a pretty easy going guy.  Tbh, I'm surprised I haven't heard anyone in the press bring it up during a pre/post round interview.  DJ would probably deny/laugh it off? But would be interesting to hear his response.

Also, if this rumor was about Tiger - I'm sure someone in the press would ask him about it.  Sounds like a perfect question for Kelly Tilgham or Alex Miceli to ask!  It's not like they are worried about their likeability with the tour/fans.

If Alex Miceli wants to make a name for himself, he should start an investigation into pot smokers on tour.  I know one mini tours pot smoking is not uncommon.  Some dudes think getting lightly baked pre round helps them.

    • Day 314 - Putting some things together. Better grip/setup, fuller backswing, better finishing position. Filmed some swings, happy with the progress.
    • Day 130: did a stack session.
    • Day 206 (24 Nov 24)  - An easy session with the 54deg wedge and hard foam balls / one simple goal - distance control thru backswing length while not decelerating.  Had a playing partner comment they noticed me decelerating on a couple short wedge shots in last round.  Hit from distances from close to 40yds down to 20.
    • Musgrove Mill hole #15 was converted to a par 3 after Hurricane Helene. Today, I had 145 from the tee which is a perfect 9-iron for me. I aimed just right of the hole and pulled it a few feet. Clanked off the stick down into the hole and ricocheted out of the hole 13’ away. Drained the putt for a birdie after repairing the hole which was damaged . Not sure if it would have counted as a HIO, but I was pretty excited!
    • Day 55 - 2024-11-24 Did five levels of Operation 36 on GSPro (different courses). 🙂 Was -4 from 200 yards (32) intentionally laying up on each hole (i.e. not hitting a 5I or something). Shot… 22, 24, 26 from 25, 50, and 100 yards. I forget my 150-yard score, but obviously it was < 36. Putting was odd… (and I did it with the wedge or a 7I or whatever was in my hand).
