I wear a Nike hat it was on sale for $8.00 and was black, also got it in white for $12 when I forgot my black one.  All i ware if Black, White and some blue so for that blow out prices it worked. I do wear Nike shoes and wind braker but do not have any Nike clubs. My bag is all differant, no one is paying me to play all there equipment.

Who cares i dont look at a guy who is play and think i should look like him or wow he sure looks great.

What ever, ware what you want.

I wear Tilley wide brim hats.  No logo of any kind.  Nobody's paid me anything to wear their stuff or show their name.

Comfort is my only concern. I only have a few golf hats, usually don't wear one.

I was surprised no one was mentioning schools!  I'll usually wear one from one of my schools, or from my son's school.  Figure if I've got the diploma or I'm paying the tuition, I've got the right to wear the hat (at least)!

Two thumbs up on Tilley.  I should wear it more often.

I generally have a hat that I wear for golf, softball, or just being out in the sun.  I don't change it depending on the activity.  Right now its a Dogfish Head cap.

My gut reaction to golf brand hats is that the player is trying to look like a pro. But honestly, wearing the brand of a beer that I like isn't really any different than wearing a golf company that I like.

I personally only wear taylormade/adidas hats, just love the brand and its all I use. I've actually been trying to find the taylormade hat Sergio wears with the adidas emblem on the side and have had no luck......

I wear any golf hat that looks good. I have Taylormade and Titleist hats.  Going more for style than anything else, don't care what brand either.  IMO only certian people look good with visors on and I ain't one of them.

I pretty much wear a hat with the logo of whatever clubs I have... I feel a little weird wearing a Titleist hat if I don't have any Titleist clubs. That being said, I don't care at all what others do and disagree with others that it would make you look like a "poser."

This is kind of how I am too.  It's kinda silly, I admit, seeing as how nobody is paying me to wear the hat, or going to laugh at me for wearing the "wrong" brand, but I still feel like if I'm going to advertise something, it might as well be advertising what I like.  Of course, I could just about wear anything now since I have such a mixed bag of clubs and balls.

If I could start shooting scratch maybe Erik and Dave would pay me to wear 5SK hats and clothes. ;)  I could be their "Jared."

I usually wear my black Lakers or Oakland A's baseball hat. I have a hard time buying a hat that has a golf company's logo plastered on it, yes i know that makes me a hypocrite, it's just that some golf hats look like  NASCAR Jackets. Sometimes the logo's and branding can get out of hand, at some point you become walking billboards.

Look at this way wear what you want, if you are a poser oh well....if I have a guy checking me out I have more to worry about then a hat i am 50 not not that good looking...ha-ha.

I wear Callaway Hats with magnetic ball markers. I also wear a William and Mary hat. I call it my 72 thousand dollar hat.

In my  bag:

Driver, Callaway Diablo Edge Tour 9.5 stiff

3, 5 woods: Callaway Diablo Edge Tour 15,18 degrees Stiff

2 hybrid: Callaway Diable Edge Tour 18 degrees R (out when the 5 wood is in)

3,6 hybrids: Callaway Diablo Edge 21 S and 30 degrees R

4,5 hybrids: Callaway Razr X HL 24 and 27 degrees Stiff

SW 54 Callaway X Series Jaws CC Slate Fujikura Graphite Stiff

Putter: Odessey White Ice 1 Blade Putter.

Ball...looking for any ball that hates water, sand, long grass, and getting lost in the woods.

I can't find any, so forced to use ones that seem to love all the above.

Fit and look are more important than matching what I play. More often than not, I wear a non golf related baseball cap.

I must have 50 golf hats.  But only wear a handful of them.  Have one from Hamilton Golf and Country Club - my buddy is a member and its my favorite for fit and comfort.  Have several college hats - UVa, VT and TT - gifts from my daughters.  Get hats from events all the time - most end up in the tote bin with most of the rest.

Im a Nike guy so the only golf hats I own are Nike Golf Hats. Taylormade makes pretty cool looking hats, I've been tempted to buy one but I dont own any TM equipment so............

    • I'm not sure you're calculating the number of strokes you would need to give correctly. The way I figure it, a 6.9 index golfer playing from tees that are rated 70.8/126 would have a course handicap of 6. A 20-index golfer playing from tees that are rated 64/106 would have a course handicap of 11. Therefore, based on the example above, assuming this is the same golf course and these index & slope numbers are based on the different tees, you should only have to give 5 strokes (or one stroke on the five most difficult holes if match play) not 6. Regardless, I get your point...the average golfer has no understanding of how the system works and trying to explain it to people, who haven't bothered to read the documentation provided by either the USGA or the R&A, is hopeless. In any case, I think the WHS as it currently is, does the best job possible of leveling the playing field and I think most golfers (obviously, based on the back & forth on this thread, not all golfers) at least comprehend that.
