I use recycled golf balls for my inside area (The Chamber). They are actually pretty resilent for the wear and tear I am putting them through.

Might I recommend going to Walmart or Academy? They have the best prices for used balls in huge quanities.

By the way, welcome to Sandtrap! :)

Used/recycled/experienced golf balls are just fine. I've bought them before at local shops or online (Lostgolfballs.com, Golfballnut.com) and had good experiences. Stay away from refinished golf balls though... they have been stripped and repainted and you can't be sure what condition the ball is in.

I took advantage of this... should have 4 dozen of the U/4 on my doorstep come Thursday... seemed like a good deal to me; I hope they are as good as you say.

I think you'll like them quite a bit.  I just can't find anything close at that price point, and I would take the U4/x over anything.  Post a follow-up and let us know what your impression!

i've got a half dozen Noodle S2F N Series remaining. When those are gone I'll get into my Srixon AD-333's .  Picked up two dozen of these for $20 on the buy one get one deal at Dick's.

My primary ball lately has been the Srixon Z-Star XV. Long off the tee with little side spin, good in the wind too. Love the Tour Yellow version, spotting my ball is made much easier (provided its not in the Autumn with leaves scattered about). I picked up some standard Z-Stars this winter to try out, see if I like them anymore than the XVs. The Callaway Hex Black and Bridgestone B330 are my runner up choices.

Slazenger RAW Distance is what I'm trying right now. I have nothing great or bad to say about them.

I played 2 Wilson MaxFli balls last round and felt they were OK (shot my best round to date)

It may be mental but I really like the Nike MOJO's and the Bridgestone E6's that I've picked up and played.

I hit NITRO balls in my net and at my "driving range"

I put Adams and PING in my OGIO Recoil bag. I'm shooting for the low 90's by summer 13'

Tried the Bridgestone E6's out for the first time this past weekend and I have to say..they left me with a pretty good impression. hit them pretty darn straight and I wasn't doing my best ball striking that day.

I started last summer playing Wilson Staff DUO, but I didn't seem to be getting consistent flight, so I switched to the Wilson Staff 50 Elite. After playing a few rounds with these, I hit them so well my golf partner decided he would go out and get the yellow ones. I am not sure what the 50 compression means but there's no doubt this is the ball for me.

I mostly play a Wilson DX2 ball, not sure it's called that way overseas.

very low compression, really easy to hit even in winter, even with long irons. a bit of spin, just enough not to back spin. my favorit since at 6 hcp I dont have the quality to play tour balls;

Well - I played (golfed? sported? gamed? rocked?) Top Flites.

I figured:

1 - they come in 18 packs - 18 holes.....lose a ball a hole......logic wins

2 - less than 60 cents each

3 - I hit them really well, and my short game didn't require a lot of touch

1 just lost my last one.

I have about 3 dozen nearly new Titleists in the shag bag - just found this season.  Shiny and new looking - six flavors in there (ProV1, V1x, NXT, NXT S, Velocity, and DT Solo).  (any bit of wear or discoloration on ball assigns that ball to the 'crappy' shag bag).

So I'll start hitting those now.  Since I have no idea which model to use, I'm starting with the first couple I pulled from the bag.   Lucky winner is "NXT Tour" whatever that is.  Since I bought a very nice putter, I think it's a good time as well to move.

1 - feels pretty decent - a bit 'softer' IYKWIM

2 - hits just as far as the Top Flight

3 - I like little more 'feel' on the short game and putts

Nice - and better than going and buying a box of something else.

(I have a raft of Callaways, Nikes, Taylormades in the bag too.  handful of Bridgestones and Srixons to - we've got OPTIONS)

Are used golf balls worth buying or are they junk? Please provide best site to purchase from.

I buy from golfballsunlimited.com and am really happy with their products and service/shipping.

This company does not sell "refurbished" balls, only recycled. If you can live with a few very minor players marks and some balls with logos, give them a try.

Good luck.

well i picked up a box of maxfli u/3 , u/4x and Titleist NXT Tour S....   and today i played the u/4x and was really impressed with how well I hit the ball..

usually I play the U/2 or Revolution..  but decided to try something a little bit better.

for the price the u/4x was nice!

Just switched to chrome hex +, I like what callaway is doing with the golf balls. Also they are a good priced low driver spin golf ball with good wedge spin.

    • I haven't heard much of anything about it. Faux leather, sure. Biodegradable leather? No. No idea. You're a bit too new, still, to post links.
    • Okay, I'm genuinely curious about this "biodegradable leather" trend in golf. Are we talking snake oil here? I mean, golf balls, clubs... they all end up in the water eventually. Is this just greenwashing, or is there actually a real environmental benefit? And honestly, does it even perform as well as traditional leather? I don't want to sacrifice distance for the planet, you know? Anyone with real-world experience with these eco-friendly golf goods? Spill the tea!
