That was Carl Pettersson, who has won twice and posted his highest-ever result in a major since putting some weight back on; it should be noted that he's in much better shape now even with the bulk than he was before he lost it the first time. Kevin Stadler, on the other hand, was a big kid when he turned pro and is even bigger now, and not of the type that suggests any sort of athleticism. He's also a lot heavier than his father was at that age. Craig Stadler was considered large for a golfer in his prime, when he was winning tournaments and contending for majors; Kevin Stadler has been playing on the PGA Tour since 2007 without doing anything notable.

(Unrelated point: Kevin Stadler is in the company of Bill Haas in the "second-generation golfers who somehow have less hair than their fathers do now" club.)

Well, next to it, at least. Yes, the now famous Liberty National where even today the pros tee it up and pound it out for millions was not long ago a heaping, seething mass of sh*t. But that didn't  stop a golfer with bags of money so Mr. Reebok Sport Shoes bought the deed and did the job.  And now only a  quarter million dollars to join the club. Nice, eh?
