Nobody would think badly of him if he just said “I’m fine with what I accomplished and it is time for me to move on past my playing career” but he is a competitor and to not try is not in his nature.

His determination to attempt a comeback may be because he does not want to look back years from now and think “what if I had tried?”

The Masters 2019 was probably his last hurrah on the big scene. If he does manage to stitch together the body for the Champions tour, he may win some events there, but the car crash just seems like the final nail in the coffin as far as majors go.

It really was a sad thing to watch him limp around out there at Augusta.
