Here is my Vlog from my round this past Weds. I stopped by this course on my way home from Alabama.

Very hilly course in northeast Georgia at Victoria Bryant State Park. It was a hot and humid 94 degs.

I shot 40-35/75. I only videoed the front nine and 17 & 18 due to low phone battery after the front nine.

After reviewing the video I observed a few things.

  • I setup with my feet closed on most shots
  • I need to make a faster backswing
  • I seem to be out on my toes with the longer clubs
  • I don't make enough putts...Duh

Thanks for sharing the video. I need to do more of these.

You look to set up square to your target line. The camera position being more in front of you will make your stance look closed.

How do you get the iPhone battery to last a round? I have to use a battery pack when I film my practice. The camera function seems to use a lot of power.

I have a Samsung Galaxy S7.

I'll have to use my Casio camera with two batteries to get 18 holes recorded I assume.

I use my iPhone. I try to have it charged to at least 80% and then I always turn it to airplane mode which saves a ton of battery. I use my portable charger through holes 10-12/13 usually but it just sits on the tripod which it's recording and usually charges it back up to about 60-70% which easily gets me through the rest of the round. I suppose I could only do 13 or 14 holes if I didn't plug it in during the round. Not much hassle.

Here is my first attempt at a course vlog. It was just a local par 3 course by my house. Went out for some practice and decided to take my gopro with me.

Missed the footage of my putts on one of the holes, and ended up filming 4 out of the 9 holes. I just had the gopro on a bendable tripod and just sat that on my driver/3 wood headcovers in my golf bag.

Ended up shooting a 30 overall for a +3 on 9 holes.

On the holes I filmed, in order I got birdie, par, bogey, birdie (this 2nd birdie was a pretty lengthy putt and even got a little fist pump from me) Hope you guys like it!

Haha!  My instructor at a young age tried to get me to go righty, but I'm a stubborn one.

It was a great day.  Hot as all get-out, but a great day none the less.  I even par'd 15, 16 and 17, three of the more popular holes.

First vlog in a while, footage is from last week. I still need work on the camera placement/angle, but the golf was decent (shot a new personal best: 8 over, 81).

Interesting. I used to be able to use Movie Maker, but somewhere along the line, I had PC crash and lost a lot of programs. I then simply uploaded stuff to You Tube, but did not know how to knit different videos together, with the different fade outs, e.t.c.

I was trying to get MM again, but I am under the impression that since MS Essentials has gone by the wayside, MM went along with it, but there are other "free" programs you can d/l.   To tell the truth, I would have to re-learn all over again, things liking syncing the audio to the clips you wanted.  In any event, the vlogs above are very good.

Hmmm ... I'm googling this camera and the only reviews I find say things like this:

The Canon PowerShot 300 HS lacks any form of optical or electronic viewfinder, with all interaction taking place through its rear-panel PureColor II G LCD display. The PowerShot ELPH 300 HS's display measures 2.7 inches diagonally, and offers 230,000 dot resolution, which equates to roughly a 320 x 240 pixel array with three dots per color. LCD coverage is said to be approximately 100%. As well as still images at resolutions up to 4,000 x 3,000 pixels, the Canon ELPH 300 HS can record high definition movie clips at up to Full HD (aka 1080p, or 1,920 x 1,080 pixels) resolution, with a rate of 24 frames per second at the highest resolution, and 30 frames per second at 720p (1,280 x 720 pixels) or below . Movies are stored with H.264 compression in a .MOV container, and include stereo Linear PCM audio.

And the main reason I'm asking is because I realize that my wife's old camera (Powershot s95) says the same thing on its reviews ...  30fps and 24 fps.  I'm hoping that whatever it is that makes the 300hs capable of shooting at high speeds is also in the s95??

GoPro Session costs $130 and shoots 1080 at 120fps... go that route....
