Finally started scoring tonight. Big pull on #1 put the ball in the water. After starting with a double. I had a bogie on 3 after a pull hook drive. I attempted a big hook around the trees, but it came up short. Really nice chips on the 4 and 5 saved par despite maple tree helicopters all over the greens. Bogie on 7 compliments of my second shot hitting a branch and jumping back over into the rough. Didn't make the sand save on 9. Ball sitting in a foot print. a**h*l*s. The sand in the bunkers is crappy there anyway. Should have taken another club on the approach and I would have cleared and had a birdie putt.

Given the way I've been playing this round make me :banana::dance::banana::dance::banana::dance::banana::dance::banana::dance::banana: !!!

After entering, my hcap is trending back down .1.

Just got the app. A bit of a learning curve but I like it and will probably buy the unit. Shot a 41 (+9) on the executive course. Thought I had shot a 40 but in reviewing the round I see that I forgot to tag a tee shot.

Nice.

I hit you up with a follow.

Tried to get a quick 9 in while my son was at his lesson.  Well, I ended up being too quick was all off timing for the first 2 holes and it showed!  Not to mention that they were aerating the fairways and the greens.

Interesting round. Short game fail. I deleted #14 since I didn't finish the hole. I wasn't sure how to deal with the situation where I couldn't find my tee shot and walked off the hole.

The good news, on both par 5s, I was near the green in 2. Haven't done that in a few years.

Drove the ball like crap and had inconsistent contact with the irons. Short game was actually decent, minus the bunker shot on 3. Still starting my putts too far to the right and speed control is still an issue.

Ball flight overall was really good.  7 penalty strokes, but only 3 off the tee.  Very weird round.

Disheartening today. Decided to attack the hardest hole on the course (#17) with driver as I had tried different things this year that hadn't worked out. I piped one right down the middle 270 yards, leaving myself only 100 yards to the elevated green. Decided I didn't want to overshoot the green and leave myself a tough chip coming down so I took out my 110 yard club (SW) and just after I struck it, I thought I caught it a bit fat but it looked good to me. My friend was standing a few feet away and said, "it looks like it's going to be short," to which I replied, "it's good," and it came down past the bunker but hit the downhill and plopped into the bunker. The bunker wasn't sand but dirt today and I did what I initially was trying to not do; overshoot the green and leave myself a tough chip,  Ended up posting a disgusting 7 on the hole.

https://www.gamegolf.com/round/334683 I took a trip to northern WI and we ended up playing a pretty fun course. It was pretty tight off the tee and the greens were the size of my Silverado, but very short. I played very well on the front 9. I started to struggle after I had been slightly over served

Ugh!  My GIR, or lack thereof, is torturous!

6% GIR and put up a 92, not sure what you normally shoot but nice scrambling numbers.

Thanks!  I usually shoot anywhere from 88-92.  My recent best being an 86 and my worst being a 96.  For the first 15 holes, I wasn't any closer than 20-30 yards from the green in regulation.  I finally got an NGIR on 16 and 17 with my lone GIR on 18.  I couldn't hit an approach shot to save my life!  I just hate having to scramble and putt to save par/bogey.  If I continually put myself in that spot, my short game may also take an off day.  Although so far, if one has been in the crapper, the other has bailed me out.  I've had rounds that I'm on/near in regulation and my putter/chipping feels totally foreign.  My problem tends to be my focus.  I have a tendency to be fast and will step up to hit the shot without properly focusing on the essentials for the shot.

    • I don't think anyone will really care.   It's your call.  Just be consistent.
    • I agree, until we are watching the 18th hole in the dark or waiting for the champion to finish and it's been 5+ hours
    • Question for the group. The course I normally play at has 27 holes - 3 9s that they use to for 18 in the various combinations. Is it okay to declare* if I’m playing front or back when I play 9 on this course? I’m figuring I need to declare before I play a shot. *meaning just say to myself that this is the back 9. Curious what people think. Of course, my only holes left are 13 and 17, so I’m going to declare the back 9 for the rest of the year. Probably only one or two more rounds though.
    • This is my opinion as well. I would love to see the LPGA take the lead on this.    This.
    • I agree in general. The one way in which the viewer will notice the pace of play is just that "it's been an hour and Nelly Korda or Scottie Scheffler have only played four holes." Or if for some reason they show a lot of shots of players just standing around when they could be showing golf shots. But I think Andy Johnson said it most recently/best, playing fast is a skill, too. I would love for pro golfers to play faster. You'd see the players you want to see hit more shots in the same time than they do now. So I don't disagree with the pace of play stuff, and hope they can find ways to do it. Heck, the LPGA should leap at the chance to differentiate itself in this way, IMO. So: I stand by what I said in that the TV viewer really doesn't notice much about pace of play. It's rare when they do. I support increasing the pace of play wholeheartedly. But my top five reasons don't include TV ratings or viewership.
