73 & 70 so far this weekend. Much better driving it than the last few weeks.

The 73 was a lot better round than the score, some bad breaks, wrong clubs and average pitches. Greens are super slow at the club and five to six greens are dying or dead, just horrible right now.

A little better, but I'm still not really in control of things right now. I've got to just get a little feeling or a trigger.

But my pre-shot routine is getting cleaner and cleaner.

Today was my fourth round in as many days playing a new course.  Because yesterday I was slicing and just in a funk with my driver I decided to watch some of Mark Crossfield's videos discussing over the top swings and before my round today I hit some balls with my driver and I think it helped because I only sliced one drive and that's when I tried to overdue it.  I played a 3 nines course where the first 9 were holes 19-27 which started terribly.  I pulled my tee shot left on my first hole with my 3H, which had been reliable, and made poor contact with my 7 iron and ended up triple bogeying the first hole.  Things got worse on the third hole where because of my uneasiness with the driver, I aimed left just in case it faded back right but instead, it drew a little bit and it hit a tree and ended up on the fairway.  I think proceeded to mishit a 5 iron and left it short and to the right of the green and, in an effort to avoid the bunker in front of the green, I clubbed up, overshot the green, and then got stuck under a branch and when I chipped it back, I thinned it and it rolled into the bunker.  Sadly, I couldn't get out of the bunker and carded a 10.  At that point, I was 10 over par on the first three holes and, with the poor contact continuing, the round was lost.  It wasn't until the 11th hole that I put up a par and actually shot a 48 on the back, my lowest 9 of the four rounds.  Anyway, here's the damage:

Score: 107

GIR: 3/18

Penalty: 4

Putts: 2.11/hole

Average distance of first putt: 28.6 feet

Matched my best score at this course and I did it the exact same way: by avoiding driver. First shot I hit with the driver was on 13. Also swapped out my 3w that I was hitting poorly with my mini driver I set at +2° to 14°, so basically a strong 3w, though with the 3w shaft in it instead of its original shaft. Hit that okay - kind of low - but better than I've been hitting the 3w. Hitting big curves with the driver and hybrids, but everything else was solidly hit but miss was a slight pull, thinking it's a clubface issue.

Short game and putting were both good, but not great. I'm fine with that.

I don't know how I've managed to lose my driver swing but I can still play some pretty good golf (maybe better?) like this. /shrug

Set a new personal high with 4 birdies! 2 were on par 3s which are really rare for me.

2 double bogeys and a couple penalties kept this from being an even or under par round, but still very very please with this round especially since it was 90+ degrees outside and very humid.

Also on hole #10 my drive went 340 yds because it hit the cart path in the air, bounced up and then hit the path again.  Left me with roughly 170yds left and what I figured would be a jumper lie in the rough. I guessed right, clubbed down and was able to get on the green in 2 and 2putted for an easy birdie.

No bogeys today. Could have been a great round, really bad day with the putter. Great saves for par on 7 and 12. Driver and distance wedges were solid.

After I don't know how many good rounds in a row, I finally fell back to earth today. But it was still fun to get out there with my son. The fact that it doesn't bother me to shoot a poor round is something I was hoping for... which is not to say I want this every week.

I've shot the last few rounds below 90. i suspect I'll settle in to low 90's golf again (on short courses). I'm hoping to be able to accept these types of rounds as long as I can occasionally break 90.

Played a touch course yesterday that was in bad condition and had a rainstorm hit us in the first half of the back nine.  Really concentrated on my greenside shots and felt like I did better in that aspect.  However, I have a severe weakness in my bunker play which accounts for a good portion of my score as I hit the bunker 6 times and 4 of them it took me twice to get out.

Rainy, windy at times. Still struggling with the woods. Putts weren't dropping, either.

Swapped the 4h out for the 4i and I hit that better than I've been hitting the 4h so it's staying in the bag.

Played a round with @nevets88. It was wet and rained through parts of the round. Greens were slower than I expected and I struggled to putt well.

Really hard to play golf well when I can't hit anything longer than 200 yards off the tee.

The lack of confidence I currently have with my driver is actually leading me away from playing this weekend.  I have zero desire to use my hybrid off the tee on most holes.

I can't hit my hybrid, either. That's why I hit so many 4 irons off the tee.

I thought about canceling my round on Sunday and going out for dim sum.

Dim sum is delicious.

I think I'll just hit the range and hope that at some point it'll come back to me before the seasons out.

And maybe clean my apartment. :-\

Good round today, despite an awful start.  48-43: 91.  We had the second tee time, played through the threesome in front of us on 7, and finished in 2:40.

And...back-to-back birdies:

I've been driving the ball really well lately.  Today, according to GG, I lost less than one stroke to a scratch (!) golfer off the tee...and less than three strokes average over my past 3 rounds.

Evidently, I went to Ireland this last week. While there I played one hole of golf and got a hole in one (which would be my first) using my hybrid on a 7946 yard hole.🤣

I must have been quite impressed and so overwhelmed that I didn't finish the round. Yeah, I suppose if it really happened, I might not ever pick up a club again.

(Actually, a round was dropped while uploading a couple weeks ago.  They're working to recover it, and this showed up in my account somehow. Don't tell my wife. She would have wanted to come with.)

Played perhaps as well as I can the first time through the course and shot a 41. Probably the most balanced the game has ever been. Even though I 3-putted on 2 GIRs, my putting was pretty solid along with everything else.

Not sure what happened on the second time through, but it wasn't pretty. There was some frustration (which I felt was justified), but easy to put in perspective afterwards. While I have broken 90 a few times now, that's not going to be my game every week until I improve.
