Thought I would share this.....I posted a while back that I noticed my driver tag had broke. (The part containing the chip came off leaving the part that screws into the grip) I didnt really mind as its easy enough to adjust for the tee box. However my 9i tag came off sometime last week and I didnt notice until yesterday.

Just sharing this because I emailed gamegolf and they are shipping me two replacement tags for no charge! Great customer service!!

Agreed on the customer service. I've sent them a few emails around various issues and they have been responsive to all. Makes me feel good about the purchase.  Now if I could just remember to TAG EVERY SHOT!

This is the second round with new irons, and after several hours of Full Swing focus...I can definitely see the improvement. I had a real chance of breaking 80 today, but for the putting issues throughout the round, especially on the first hole. I know there's been some discussion around the validity of the strokes gained measurement in GG but today I would say it's spot on. I think it's time to contact the Aimpoint guys and maybe look at a new putter.

Today at the So Cal TST outing.  Great company and had a pretty good round score-wise too. http://www.gamegolf.com/player/Shindig/round/1190956

I actually played this round last Wednesday, but I haven't logged onto the site from my laptop until now (app-to-web-browser compatibility is non-existent on phones)...

https://www.gamegolf.com/player/ChilliDipper/round/1185052

Lowlights: shanked a chip shot at the second hole; drove into the pond on the fifth, and the drop left an awful lie I could only punch out of; my attempt to play a huge explosion shot out of the greenside bunker on the sixth hit ball first, and flew thirty yards over the green; toe-shanked my first ball on the seventh, which was easily found, but was only playable if I played down the sixth fairway; the usual sidehill nuttiness on the ninth; wedge slid straight underneath the ball on my third shot at the 13th; bad club choice on the 17th resulted in a topped hybrid off an uphill lie.

Highlights: six pars for the round, including on the #1 handicap hole; six greens in regulation; stuck the tee shots on both par threes on the back nine to within six feet; the low nine-hole score for the year on the back nine, despite not hitting driver well at all.

In my UnderArmour Links stand bag...

How do you hit 77% of fairways, but still shoot 95?

I really like this course, but the greens today were very bumpy and recently top-dressed; I had been playing courses with bermuda greens all summer because of what the heat does to bent greens, and this course's hadn't yet recovered despite the current streak of mild temperatures. Impossible to putt with much confidence. Also, I stubbed the pinky toe on my lead foot quite badly last week. Some lingering pain started to creep in as the round progressed, and it was definitely affecting weight transfer on the back nine.

I enjoy looking at everyone's game on Game Golf.   Since the season is winding down, I'll wait until either Christmas or spring to buy but I'm sold.

I shot 74 at Bedford Springs Old Course. The weather was great, the wind was there but not too bad, and the sun was out.

I had good company (two out of three ain't bad! :-D) and wish I could have made a few more putts, but… that's almost always true. :-)

Not sure if others are having this issue but I'm missing Club Performance data for the last few rounds of GG. I contacted support and it's a known issue they are working to resolve.

34 at Whispering Woods.

8 pars (pretty routine… I think I missed… uhh… no greens? Wow. Yeah. 100% GIR. Anyway, hit the cart path on #3 and had only a six-iron in… that I thinned badly and which ended up at about five feet. :-)

I played a practice round today at Lindenwood Golf Course in the South Hills of Pittsburgh.  I had the course to myself, so I played multiple balls and dropped second shots for practice.  I didn't feel like deleting all of the detected shots (Game Golf thinks I shot 110+...haha), so I didn't keep the round, but the pair of consecutive holes is worth posting (Hole #27 was my 9th hole).

Pitched in from about 30' (light rough) for birdie on 9:

Then, I missed pitching in for birdie by about 4" on the next hole:

Played my personal best round today...shot a 92 on a difficult course (72.6/136).

http://www.gamegolf.com/player/Hardspoon/round/1269063

I drove the ball really well, irons were decent, putting was terrible as always.  I was happy with the distance I was getting on my drives, particularly since it was only 40 degrees out and my (golf) balls were cold.

I decided to give the GameGolf App a try this past Saturday, I like the visualization and stats, but carrying my phone around got a little annoying. I like to keep stats during a round, but also got annoyed by writing everything down after each shot/hole. I feel like I'm more focused on keeping stats than I am on actually playing. I was tinkering with some visualization tools to help visualize the data I already have, but just never seem to have the time it takes to learn what I need to for it to actually be worth while.

I do like the ease in editing the round once it is completed and then seeing the mapping of the shots.  It was probably around 35 degrees when I played this round, wasn't hitting the ball great, obviously by the FW and GIR percentages, but seemed to scramble good that day.

For those that use only the App, have you came up with a less annoying way of using it on the course. I think off the tee and in the fairway it's okay, but pulling my phone out for chips and putts is what got to me.  I'm also thinking about getting GameGolf Live, but wanted to see a few rounds in it first before I make a decision.

I've had the device from the start, but actually use the app for distances.

I would imagine it not being bad for every tee/approach shot but yeah, could see it being annoying once you get to the chipping range. Could you do the chip shot location and then memorize how putts you took to edit them in later? At the same time, I might not even mind having the phone in my pocket for putting.

This Summer I thought of trying a round on just my phone to see the experience of just the app.

Good round today, considering I haven't played in almost two months, and haven't even practiced as much as I'd like.

I particularly enjoyed hitting three great shots on a par-5 (that lob wedge was a really tricky downhill chip) and then missing a 2-foot birdie putt:

I did the same on Thursday, our greens were punched Monday and it was a bumpy road to the hole.
It took one big hop but stayed the course to the hole.
I wish it had gone it for the Eagle ....

You forgot the part where you miss the 2-footer.  :-P

I made up for that today by missing 2 three footers after putting horrible strokes on reasonable bird attempts....

Yesterday, I was golfing with a friend and he made a couple of long putts that bounced back and forth before finding the cup.
In his best sense of rare humor he blurts out "The greens are perfect, I love them this way"

    • Taking your dispersion and distance in consideration I analyzed the 4 posible ways to play the hole, or at least the ones that were listed here. I took the brown grass on the left as fescue were you need to punch out sideways to the fairway and rigth of the car path to be fescue too.  Driver "going for the green"  You have to aim more rigth, to the bunker in order to center your shotzone in between the fescue.  Wood of 240 over the bunkers I already like this one more for you. More room to land between the fescue. Balls in the fescue 11% down from 30% with driver. Improve of score from 4.55 to 4.40. 4 iron 210 yards besides the bunkers.    Also a wide area and your shot zone is better than previous ones. This makes almost the fescue dissapear. You really need to hit a bad one (sometimes shit happens). Because of that and only having 120 yards in this is the best choice so far. Down to 4.32 from 4.40. Finally the 6 Iron 180 yards to avoid all trouble.    Wide area an narrow dispersion for almost been in the fairway all the time. Similar than the previous one but 25 yards farther for the hole to avoid been in the bunkers. Average remains the same, 4.33 to 4.32.  Conclusion is easy. Either your 4iron or 6 iron of the tee are equaly good for you. Glad that you made par!
