Local blocking?

That’s possible. Comcast calling me tomorrow and I’m gonna see we what I can get done. The chat tech of course couldn’t help but he seemed to say if I go with internet only I’ll get the slower speed...that only high speeds come with bundle.

That would suck.   I have Charter / Spectrum and they didn't have any trouble with me just buying internet service although it was a few dollars higher than the bundle price.  I just measured 117.9 Mb/s / 11.3 Mb/s.   I pay about $65 / month for just internet.

Yeah I think my other option here is SmartCity. If Xfinity won’t work with me I may just dump it all and switch to them as I know they have internet only. I average 165-180 Mbps. I wanted the Gigabit plan but my area isn’t wired for fiber optic. My plan says 400 Mbps and I don’t expect that but over 200 less? I dunno ...it’s all a bit annoying.

I was finally able to dump the TV package and just keep my internet service with Xfinity. I have Netflix, AP and Hulu. I use Hulu for sports mostly, Netflix for originals/movies and Prime for the same. So much out there now with DirectTV direct, YouTube, etc.. It’s hard to know what the best/economical set up is to cover everything you may want.

That is an affirmative. I'm not subscribed to PGA Tour Live on Amazon, maybe this is a promotion? This is from a desktop computer, dunno how it looks on a streaming device. I've seen NFL links while jumping around searching the catalog on the Roku though.

I think golf has been losing viewers like me, I will not watch regular events live, because, well, have gone through that a bazillion times, but if I'm out and about and have ten minutes here or there, I will spin up Amazon Prime on my whatever portable device and have it in the background or just pay attention when they hit a shot.

PGA Tour Live

I subscribed a few years back and enjoyed watching early featured groups before GC coverage in the afternoon.
Also I liked watching rounds on my phone in the afternoon while playing.

They had great coverage for the US Open with less commercials.
The announcers were ok, but no on course updates.
I could also watch their broadcast and tv coverage for more coverage.

I did noticed they up the price the other day to $65 for the year.
It was a great deal at $30 plus they gave a $30 credit for Golf Now use back then.

Bringing this back from the dead, I recently switched to youtube.tv, which doesn't have the history channel, does anyone have any ideas how to get history channel, without switching to another service.

I’m thinking @nevets88 may have an idea...

My wife and i are tired of dealing with satellite company and inconsistent pricing.  So we will soon be adding ESPN+ (and Disney for the kiddos) to our montly streaming use but i wanted to check in and see what everyone is using to stream  PGA events and your reviews.

I usually like watching the last event on Monday when the course is closed....

I'm coming up blank. There's no way to get it w/o switching over to Hulu or some other service.

Yeah...maybe Sling would be the cheapest route? I have Netflix/Prime/Hulu Live. I see pretty much anything I want with that combo.

What are your thoughts on the Sports Gold package since it's move from PGA live; worth the money? Better options out there?

Cool, looks nice.  I think I may start with the US Open Decade: 1930s when I have time.

    • Never practiced golf when I was young and the only lesson ever taken was a driver lesson. I feel like I'm improving every year. However, the numbers don't support my feeling about improving. I usually drop to 12-13 during the summer while playing the familiar courses around home and then go on golf trips in the fall to new courses and increase to end the year between 15-17. Been a similar story for a number of years now but hey, it's the best thing there is in life so not too bothered but reaching 9.9 is the objective every year. Maybe a few lessons and practice could help me achieve it since I pretty much have no idea what I'm doing, just playing and never practice.
    • I am semi-loyal. Usually buy four dozen of one ball and only play that until out and then determine whether to continue or try another one. Since starting my semi-loyal path to success, I've been playing the below, not in order: ProV1 ProV1x ProV1x left dash AVX Bridgestone BXS Srixon Z-star XV I am not sure if it has helped anything, but it gives a bit of confidence knowing that it at least is not the ball (while using the same one) that gives different results so one thing less to mind about I guess. On the level that I am, not sure whether it makes much difference but will continue since I have to play something so might as well go with the same ball for a number of rounds. Edit: favorite is probably the BXS followed by ProV1/Srixon Z-star XV. Haven't got any numbers to back it up but just by feel.
    • Will not do it by myself, going to the pro shop I usually use after Cristmas for input and actually doing the changes, if any, but wanted to get some thoughts on whether this was worthwhile out of curiosity.
    • In terms of ball striking, not really. Ball striking being how good you are at hitting the center of the clubface with the swing path you want and the loft you want to present at impact.  In terms of getting better launch conditions for the current swing you have, it is debatable.  It depends on how you swing and what your current launch conditions are at. These are fine tuning mechanisms not significant changes. They might not even be the correct fine tuning you need. I would go spend the $100 to $150 dollars in getting a club fitting over potentially wasting money on changes that ChatGPT gave you.  New grips are important. Yes, it can affect swing weight, but it is personal preference. Swing weight is just one component.  Overall weight effects the feel. The type of golf shaft effects the feel of the club in the swing. Swing weight effects the feel. You can add so much extra weight to get the swing weight correct and it will feel completely different because the total weight went up. Imagine swinging a 5lb stick versus a 15lb stick. They could be balanced the same (swing weight), but one will take substantially more effort to move.  I would almost say swing weight is an old school way of fitting clubs. Now, with launch monitors, you could just fit the golfer. You could have two golfers with the same swing speed that want completely different swing weight. It is just personal preference. You can only tell that by swinging a golf club.
    • Thanks for the comments. I fully understand that these changes won't make any big difference compared to getting a flawless swing but looking to give myself the best chance of success at where I am and hopefully lessons will improve the swing along the way. Can these changes make minor improvements to ball striking and misses then that's fine. From what I understood about changing the grips, which is to avoid them slipping in warm and humid conditions, is that it will affect the swing weight since midsize are heavier than regular and so therefore adding weight to the club head would be required to avoid a change of feel in the club compared to before?
