That sounds like it is some sort of coded message - I wonder what they could mean

We will find out soon right? If he plays well then it will all make sense, if he doesn't play or plays poorly it will be used to make fun of him for a while.

Yes I am a huge Tiger fan. But I really expect him to play well at the Masters. He knows that course as good as anyone. I am not saying he will win. But he will be in contention come Sunday afternoon.

This is perfect timing because I'm developing a game show called: "Is This a Description of Tiger Woods's Game or Maverick's Flying in Top Gun?"

I know, we're working on the title.

In the video, Rosaforte said he thinks Woods will practice @ Augusta next this week so we'll know then.

I was thinking of Top Gun as well.

If he had better then 50-1 odds ,I would be all over it. I read a interesting article about the gambling side of it. Tiger really should be 250-1. They figure at 50-1 the odds arent good enough for a lot of interest. At 250-1 a golfer might get a few bets, but enough to hurt the casino if they win. But at 250-1 a lot of money would come in on TW, and if he wins the casinos are screwed. So that is why it wont go higher than 50-1

I'm pretty sure that a lot of the talking heads including Rosaforte have said pretty much the same thing multiple times already this year and so far it has been basically a disaster.  So, my position is pretty simple.  Until Mr. Woods can prove in competition that he is healthy and his game is in good shape I am going to go with he isn't ready and/or healthy.  I Considering what has been going on recently, If Tiger plays in the masters and makes the cut I would consider it a win for him.  Anything else would be gravy.  I won't go as far as shocked but I would be pretty surprised to see him in serious competition on Sunday at the masters.

I truly hope the rumor is true about Tiger getting his edge back. Nothing wrong with seeing Tiger joking and laughing in his PCs back in January, but that's the Tiger I want to see when he's 50, not 39. I want to see the Tiger who is determined and has that "Swagger" back in him. Someone who's serious about getting his game back and winning tournaments. That Tiger's been missing for a long time now.

Agreed, Tiger doesn't need to laugh with other players. He needs to tell them to get the F out of the way, this is my house. And have the look that says " you know you guys are playing for 2nd place".

That might be tough to pull off, given that it hasn't been "his house" since 2005!

Nice. Lovely. :loco:

In the race of life, always back self-interest. At least you know it's trying.

Or, he just needs to hit fewer shots than the other players.

    • Day 11: did mirror work for a while. Worked on the same stuff.
    • I'm not sure you're calculating the number of strokes you would need to give correctly. The way I figure it, a 6.9 index golfer playing from tees that are rated 70.8/126 would have a course handicap of 6. A 20-index golfer playing from tees that are rated 64/106 would have a course handicap of 11. Therefore, based on the example above, assuming this is the same golf course and these index & slope numbers are based on the different tees, you should only have to give 5 strokes (or one stroke on the five most difficult holes if match play) not 6. Regardless, I get your point...the average golfer has no understanding of how the system works and trying to explain it to people, who haven't bothered to read the documentation provided by either the USGA or the R&A, is hopeless. In any case, I think the WHS as it currently is, does the best job possible of leveling the playing field and I think most golfers (obviously, based on the back & forth on this thread, not all golfers) at least comprehend that.
    • Day 115 12-5 Skills work tonight. Mostly just trying to be more aware of the shaft and where it's at. Hit foam golf balls.
    • Day 25 (5 Dec 25) - total rain day, worked on tempo and distance control.
    • Yes it's true in a large sample like a tournament a bunch of 20 handicaps shouldn't get 13 strokes more than you. One of them will have a day and win. But two on one, the 7 handicap is going to cover those 13 strokes the vast majority of the time. 20 handicaps are shit players. With super high variance and a very asymmetrical distribution of scores. Yes they shoot 85 every once in a while. But they shoot 110 way more often. A 7 handicap's equivalent is shooting 74 every once in a while but... 86 way more often?
