RE: Reed. I told the people that I was watching with that he was stooooopid for running on the bridge like that -  possibly losing millions if he has to w/d in the future with an re-injury.


I felt bad for the bridge.

(I like it when the players have fun.  What are they supposed to do?  live in a cave and only come out to play cautious golf?)

I think the focus on Rory and his chance at the “Rory-Slam” or whatever they are calling it has motivated The Tiger to step it up.

It may have flipped the circuit breaker in Tiger’s head to the ON position.

Go Tiger.

They're calling it the same thing they've always called it ... the career Grand Slam. ;)

Now, if he wins this Masters, then they will be going bonkers leading up to the US Open and I'm sure they will be calling that the "Rory Slam," just as they called Tiger's 4 consecutive the "Tiger Slam."

And I hope you're right about Tiger - I so want to see him do well.  And Rory, and DJ, and JD, and Patrick Reed and Jordan Spieth.  And a bunch of others.  (But mostly Tiger) ;)

      I'm not sure you're calculating the number of strokes you would need to give correctly. The way I figure it, a 6.9 index golfer playing from tees that are rated 70.8/126 would have a course handicap of 6. A 20-index golfer playing from tees that are rated 64/106 would have a course handicap of 11. Therefore, based on the example above, assuming this is the same golf course and these index & slope numbers are based on the different tees, you should only have to give 5 strokes (or one stroke on the five most difficult holes if match play) not 6. Regardless, I get your point...the average golfer has no understanding of how the system works and trying to explain it to people, who haven't bothered to read the documentation provided by either the USGA or the R&A, is hopeless. In any case, I think the WHS as it currently is, does the best job possible of leveling the playing field and I think most golfers (obviously, based on the back & forth on this thread, not all golfers) at least comprehend that.
