I'm predicting a lot of good golf in April!

I'm predicting a lot more grief from the wife.........I broke a light fitting in the kitchen after my last practice session!

I'm in.  I've already been doing this. On days when I can't hit ball, I swing at a rubber tee. Below is a drill I did yesterday at the range.  I am working on flatten the shaft from A4 to 5.  It has been a year long endeavor.

I did this once as well.  Our ceiling fan/light in the living room has 3 glass things that surround the bulbs.  I broke one with a backswing.

I could not find an exact replacement, but the wife has not noticed yet.

I'm in.  I wonder if I'm the only one who sneaks in 30 second mirror sessions at work when no one else is in the restroom at the same time.

It goes without saying I'm in as well. I hit twelve balls very slowly yesterday. Took 10 minutes or so. I also got on SAM PuttLab prior to a clinic I gave.

For the month of April we challenge you to practice your full swing for 5 minutes at home or at the office every day. If you're up for it, post in this thread. Also feel free to post about your progress, or a video/pic to keep us updated

For 5 mins?   I have to dial down my practice then :-) .

I have been focusing on getting rid of flipping with the "punisher" at home.   I used the punisher at the range for the 1st time yesterday, with much less success than at home.   What's the final success would look like for me?   Bigger divots, lower ball trajectory, longer distance, ..., leading to increase GIR and lower score (to 16 HI, one of my 2015 golf goals).

I'm in.

I try to practice at least 30 minutes a day, when it's warm and not raining I spend about an hour outside working on my swing.

Should I be playing while doing all this practice? I'm doing a total swing overhaul, and today went out and shot 96. Should I engrain the swing before I play, or keep playing normally while practicing during the week?

I looked at your my swing thread and I don't think you need to go that extreme. One piece at a time, one day at a time.

A couple of videos of yesterdays practice. Trying to keep it slow and work on sequencing my arms and pivot on the backswing.

Did this for about half an hour. Probably the best practice I have done all year.

    • Is it? I bought the Stack radar to replace my PRGR based on what Stack told me! When I am swinging for speed, the PRGR would miss 50%-80% of my backswings due to a higher speed. The stack seldom misses those- at least for me.
    • As an analyst by nature, I would like to compare the scores under both systems. It is something we can easily do if we have the data. I actually thought the new system was less fair to those whose game was on the decline - like mine! Old: Best 10 of last 20 scores with the .96 multiplier. Course handicap excluded course rating and overall par. New: Best 8/20. Course handicap includes course rating -par. My understanding is Stableford caps scores at Net double bogey like stroke play. If so, handicap should be slower to rise because you are only using 8 versus 10 scores. If I am missing something, I am curious enough to  want to understand what that may be. My home course tees that I play are 72.1/154 now. My best score out here is 82. When my game started to decline, my handicap didn’t budge for 13 rounds because of good scores in my first 8! I know I am an anomaly but my handicap has increased almost 80% in the past few years (with only a few rounds this year). For a few months I knew I was losing every bet because my game was nowhere near my handicap. I suspect I have steamrolled a few nuances but that shouldn’t matter much. When I have modeled this with someone playing the same tees and course, one good round, or return to form, will immediately reduce the handicap by some amount.
