Five minutes this morning while I waited to go to work, this time with a club, working on the same piece.

I'm taking my 8-iron and a wedge or something to play with my kiddo later tonight, so I'll get my five minutes in then.

Also… did mirror work on the backswing piece (shorter, more vertical, elbow location) about half an hour ago.

I am no longer the master of my domain.  Practiced each day, but forgot to post after a midweek tournament round on Thursday...Oh well.  No merit badge.

Did a little more than 5 minutes today, but it was mapping up to A4 with the feel that I'm taking the club straight up with the butt of the club pointing at the ground, and then shallowing the club with my wrists and coming down slowly getting the hip to fire first.. I'm hoping to ingrain this feeling so that I can at least begin to go steep to shallow instead of the other way around.

Hit a bucket at the range. Working on a few pieces to turn my playable pull draw into a more consistent push draw. Decided to give the last couple of balls a little something extra with the driver and wound up snapping the shaft in half on the very last ball. Had a pretty good audience for it to. Pretty impressive. Hopefully Callaway will replace it for me.

That's at least one reason for using a steel shaft. . .

5-10 minutes, no club or ball, working on shifting weight on downswing.  Hopefully the rain holds off tomorrow so I can get to a practice green and work on chipping and putting.

30 mins outdoor with a 7 and a 9 iron. Full swings, working on nailing the correct positions at A5 and impact. Was making slow swings, and only sending the ball about 30 yards.

Spent 15 minutes putting, working on distance control for long putts, followed by 30 minutes on the driving range. I'm happy with how my full swing is coming along. I'll try to take some video this week to confirm, but I feel like I'm doing a better job banking my right foot and rotating through impact. My lag putting on the other hand was very poor. My distance control was erratic and I stubbed the ground on a handful of long putts.

About an hour hitting into the net working on Key #2 (still!). Also worked on my driver some trying to figure out if I am doing something different that is causing me to make just about every miss possible with that club. I'm going to take some video tomorrow and compare my swings vs my woods and irons and see if I can tell whats going on.

    • Is it? I bought the Stack radar to replace my PRGR based on what Stack told me! When I am swinging for speed, the PRGR would miss 50%-80% of my backswings due to a higher speed. The stack seldom misses those- at least for me.
    • As an analyst by nature, I would like to compare the scores under both systems. It is something we can easily do if we have the data. I actually thought the new system was less fair to those whose game was on the decline - like mine! Old: Best 10 of last 20 scores with the .96 multiplier. Course handicap excluded course rating and overall par. New: Best 8/20. Course handicap includes course rating -par. My understanding is Stableford caps scores at Net double bogey like stroke play. If so, handicap should be slower to rise because you are only using 8 versus 10 scores. If I am missing something, I am curious enough to  want to understand what that may be. My home course tees that I play are 72.1/154 now. My best score out here is 82. When my game started to decline, my handicap didn’t budge for 13 rounds because of good scores in my first 8! I know I am an anomaly but my handicap has increased almost 80% in the past few years (with only a few rounds this year). For a few months I knew I was losing every bet because my game was nowhere near my handicap. I suspect I have steamrolled a few nuances but that shouldn’t matter much. When I have modeled this with someone playing the same tees and course, one good round, or return to form, will immediately reduce the handicap by some amount.
