  1. 1. Who wins more Majors in their career?

    • Rory
      25
    • Spieth
      44

Rory has 4 majors. Age: 26.

Spieth has 2 majors & going for the Grand Slam. Age: 21.

At the end of their career who you think will have more majors & why?

I'm thinking it will be Rory since he has pure talent because when he's on, he can blow away the field...

Spieth because Rory will join One Direction to replace Zayn. :-)

Rory because his talent is overwhelming.

Man, that is tough and too early for me to even guess. The fact that Jordan won last week with his B game says something. I do believe they'll both get to double digits. Edit: the more I think about this, I will vote Jordan. I think his game travels better than Rory, I think he's better equipped to get it done in bad weather, and he appears to be more consistent at this stage in their careers.

Rory's long game will give him more chances.

Spieth's Strokes Gained - Total: 2.16, Tee To Green: 1.62, Putting: 0.50

Rory's Strokes Gained - Total: 2.17, Tee to Green: 2.00, Putting: 0.17

It is easier to improve putting over ball striking. Rory has a big advantage, nearly 1.5 strokes over the course of a tournament than Spieth. That is why Rory, in one round, was making a charge at the US Open when his putting gets hot.

If someone can answer this question then I will be able to make a clear choice.

Will Rory develop injury issues later in his career due to the torque generated in his swing, ie will his back, knees, shoulders at 32 be able to handle the swing that he has as a 26 year-old?

Ah, who am I kidding, as much as I like what Rory brings to the game I have to vote for the 21 year-old thinking that him winning 1 or 2 majors a year for the next 12 -15 years will put his 30'ish majors just ahead of Rory and his 27 majors..... Jack who, Tiger what?

I voted Jordan. I haven't been following either of them very closely as I haven't really been too into watching the PGA for awhile, but things like the long streak Jordan had without making a bogey and his performance this year seem to indicate that he may have a much more steady and solid game to me. Granted, that's just my take with the limited information I know so it could be very inaccurate.

I think it is a bit presumptuous to assume that he will keep up winning 1-2 majors per year.

Tough call, but Spieth reminds me more of Nicklaus and Rory more of Tiger in the sense that Spieth's swing is built more for the long haul and I think will win deep into his 40s. Rory, I feel, is peaking now and I think will begin to fade a bit after the age of 35 as he will have a hard time making swing adjustments to suit his age.

Another Woods-Nicklaus comparison in that I think at the top of their games, I think Rory's better and will always be better, just like I think Tiger's A-game is always better than Jack's, however career wise from beginning to end, I think Spieth will have the better career and more majors when all is said and done because he will be able to win in his 40s.

At the top of their respective games, I'd give the nod to Rory - but Jordan seems to be more consistent.Β  My vote goes to Spieth.

I am definitely a fan of Spieth's and I would love to say that he'll end up with more, but I just don't know. Rory is two ahead, and with the strong fields and the quality of talent in today's game, majors are going to be hard to come by. I think they'll each win more majors, but Rory being two ahead is a big advantage. Obviously Spieth is younger and that will give him time to catch up, but there are some really good players out there who never get even one.

Nothing scientific, but I voted Spieth just cause I like watching him play more. Β I mean, Rory's incredible when he's playing well, but I just like the way Spieth plays more.

Spieth. His swing seems less hard on the body and he has not reached his physical peak which means he will possibly pick upΒ more distance. Rory will have to retool in the next 10 years to protect his back or knees.

I voted Spieth, he has 2 less Majors but 5 years to win 2 more to be even with Rory's 4 at 26.Β  Spieth is also more consistent that Rory, so unless something significant changes in the way they both play golf, my money is on Jordan.

Jordan is still brand new to the tour! If he keeps even close to this pace, consistency alone, there is no telling what he could do in the next 15-20 years.

He is in the top 10 more than 50% of the time this season.

I have never been very good at predicting the future....But I think I will take Rory on the basis that he has the ability to turn on the jets in a way that most can't.

    • Nothing exposes low point control, and for that matter the general quality of ball striking like tight lies. Lol! I am at a crossroad. My days of playing with a super strong left hand grip are coming to an end it seems. I'm finding it increasingly difficult to maintain proper face control through impact as the club face naturally wants to turn over. The quality of strike and ball flight difference when I weaken the grip is stark. Problem is a weaker grip is at odds with my poor sore left forearm which I have been nursing for last few days after 3 days of demanding golf. As of now I will continue my 'transition' to a weaker grip with woods and hopefully my forearm will condition as I go along. Maybe someday I'll get to a normal address with irons too.Β
