Tough call. I mean did anyone predict 5 years ago that Tiger would be stuck on 14 majors? As far as Rory or Spieth, both are mature for their age, both have all the tools. I have to go with Spieth just because he is younger and should have more chances.

I have never been very good at predicting the future....But I think I will take Rory on the basis that he has the ability to turn on the jets in a way that most can't.

I thought about that. Both will win their fair share and when Rory does, he brings it home, he does so in steam roller style, but I chose on Speith based on time already served and longetivity.

I think Rory can hammer a golf ball, but that's the only outstanding thing about him. I think Spieth will keep winning until he wakes up one morning and thinks, " Wait, I'm only Jordan Spieth. I'm not this good."

So, while I don't think either are the second coming of Nicklaus or Trevino, I think Spieth will win more, maybe 6 or 7 majors.

In the bag: TaylorMade R5 Duel driver (44", Senior-flex), Namura 19* 3 Hybrid, Stiff, Cougar X-CAT 26* 5 hybrid, Wilson K-28 irons 6-PW, Wilson Harmonized Gap (52) and Sand (55) Wedges, Blade Runner II putter.

Jordan Spieth and I don't think it will even be that close, I could easily see Spieth at 7 or 8 majors 5 years from now hes really that good at playing golf, he knows how to play with less than his full arsenal which makes him so much more complete than others out there, besides Tiger when he was dominating I have yet to see a more dominating pressure putter than Spieth.

This is a tough one for me. Spieth have been crazy consistent over the past couple years and Rory can go from winning to shooting 80. Rory has also said he may retire at 40 where I see Spieth playing for a long time. I'm more of a fan of Spieth but I voted for Rory because he's already two majors up (I know there is a 5 year age difference but still he's two majors up), he's longer and he has a Tiger-esque ability to dominate a course/field.

If both of these players keep it up, the next 10-15 years could be a very exciting.

One thing's for sure: It's a great time for golf. Wasn't long ago where we something like 15 straight majors with 15 different champions. Really ever since the 2012 British, every major champion has been an Elite World class name and very few "new champions." Last year was only the 4th time in history we didn't have a brand new major champion in any of the majors. And now we've gone 4 majors with two players sharing the titles.

The next thing I really want to see is Spieth and McIlroy battle it out instead of one winning it while the other is out of contention. That was always the problem with Tiger-Phil. Everytime was one of them was in the heat of the battle, the other was lost in the pack. We never really got a major where the two of them went toe-to-toe...only a couple regular events here and there.

I think Rory is gonna end up with 14 major and tie Tiger. Spieth will have 10. Cause I'm weird.

I like Rory's chances to get to 14 sooner, but Spieth will win later in his career. Rory has more overpowering talent. But wouldn't be surprised if Spieth wins more long term.

Gonna be an interesting future of golf. Would be nice if we could have a legitimate trifecta. I don't buy into Rickie. Perhaps Reed or one of the real young guys can reach their level.

I'm voting for Speith. I believe he will hit the gym to improve his power off the tee and his final round scoring average will drop as he becomes more comfortable with the spotlight.

Ugh please no! Spieth doesn't need to improve his power. He hits it fine. He wins! I pray he does not get bulked up and risk injury and jenk up his swing. No no no no no.

Good, balanced physical training prevents far more injuries than it creates. Speith has enough good people around him to help find a quality trainer.

Spieth's 3 wood from 18 fairway went 275 yards. He doesn't need Max's Muscle Mass Pro Extreme.

Yeah but DJ only needed a 5i to get home in two.

And he 3 putted. ;)

I think everyone would like DJs distance but you don't have to have it. Spieth would have won going away if not for a 6 iron from out of nowhere. That said, I agree that balanced training to keep himself in good shape is a wise idea, but no need to lift weights or bulk up. A smart calisthenics and band work program is all he needs.

Yeah he needs a different trainer because????

I'm thinking his record shows he has enough game  - or are 4 wins (2 majors) and > $16 million in winnings in 2.5 years on tour some sort of statement that he needs to develop physically?

Maybe Jordan will be smart enough to not screw with something that's working quite well as is.  "If it ain't broke, don't fix it!"

And how many majors has DJ won?

I voted for Spieth because I think he's going to be more consistent over the long haul.

All the pros are trying to improve. Speith is only 21 and hasn't fully filled out. Strange how we remember the injuries of fit minded players like Tiger but totally forget about successful fitness fanatics like Gary Player who managed to win the Open Championship in three different decades and made the cut in the Masters at the age of 62.

    • Idk but I would have to imagine that a putter that is aimed where you think it's aimed would be the most important aspect of a putter

    • Nothing exposes low point control, and for that matter the general quality of ball striking like tight lies. Lol! I am at a crossroad. My days of playing with a super strong left hand grip are coming to an end it seems. I'm finding it increasingly difficult to maintain proper face control through impact as the club face naturally wants to turn over. The quality of strike and ball flight difference when I weaken the grip is stark. Problem is a weaker grip is at odds with my poor sore left forearm which I have been nursing for last few days after 3 days of demanding golf. As of now I will continue my 'transition' to a weaker grip with woods and hopefully my forearm will condition as I go along. Maybe someday I'll get to a normal address with irons too.
