What'd You Shoot Today?

Recommended Posts

Played 18 at my home course yesterday.  Decent weather, almost 50 degrees with no rain. I played the best front 9 ever, was even par going into 9.  Hit my 3 hybrid onto the green, then 3 putted from 30' for bogey and a 36.

Went double , bogey, double, bogey on back 9 but then dropped birdie putt of my life.  From the fringe over a hump then it broke way right into the center of the cup, about 35' feet.  Not the longest putt I have ever made but the difficulty and the situation made it the best.  Then I went bogey, bogey, 3 putt bogey! and a double.  I really had a hard time with the pressure (i forgot to enjoy it!) and blew my great chance to break 80. I was pretty disappointed even though an 82 is only 2 shots off my best score.  2 3 putts and 3 doubles on the back ruined my score. good news it is only january.  Can't wait to get back out there...

I shot a 39, 43 for an 82. Pretty rusty from the lack of play but I putted better on the back nine. I think I just got tired.

45-45 = 90 (18 over par)

Mediocre round. Hit 5 fairways and 4 GIRs (two of which, I three-putted!). Ball striking was better with more lag and distance with driver

45-48 - 93

Good news was the weather was decent here for a change. Bad news was that I have apparently forgotten how to play golf (supposing I ever knew in the first place). 93 wouldn't have been so bad a lot of places, but I played the shorty course (Community GC Dales). I can't remember the last time I went over 90 out there. Two blow up holes were a primary cause, but not a lot of quality with anything.

I guess I just can't take things too seriously when I'm not swinging a club for weeks at a time.

43-41 at Elizabeth Manor in 40 degree weather.

Super windy and cold, lot of long approaches (175+) into the wind. Flubbed one chip but in general most nGIRs resulted in chipping/pitching on the green and a ho hum 2-putt bogey. Nothing to write home about but considering the last two rounds as far as my stats once I got nGIR, it is a huge improvement.

Went late and played 9 with my brand new G30s. Shot a 47 on a more difficult course than I'm used to and haven't played in 30 years! I'm  very pleased with how I played and with the new clubs! :-D

Shot 92...

Off the tee I had a good day, missing only a few fairways, and not by much. I only hit 3 tee shots that really got me into any trouble... one that I just completely mishit and ended up only going about 150 and in the right rough (hit a good recovery after that), and two into water (on 4 and 18).

Putting also felt better, distance control was really good and I only had one three putt. Iron play was definitely lacking as was the short game, although after talking with @mvmac when we played Desert Willow with @DaveP043, that is feeling better (just need more practice). The biggest issue, as always, was keeping the big number off the card; too many times, I'd follow a bad shot with another one and let the problem compound. For example; on four after putting the tee ball in the water, I dropped and put that one in the water as well. A hole that should have been an easy bogey for me is now a 7.

1st Mid Am Tournament here in argentina at Martindale Country Club (Rating 71,9) Blue course, not Championship course.

Shoot 74-82 to tie 25th position with a field of 80 players, winner shoot 72-66 ( 6 under )

First day i was 3 under at 11th hole but i guess the rain afected my game to end up 74 (+2). It Rained all the back 9 holes with heavy rain on the last 2 holes.

On sunday i was tied for 10th when i teed up, we played the 12 first holes with rain and 60 km/h gusts. It was a really diffucult day that i couln´t handdle. Played really bad and don´t made a single birdie (5 on the previous day)

At least this course exposed my weekness, driving and irons so i have to work on them..

I don´t have much time in 10 day´s its the "US Amateur" Argentinian version. I guess you need to shoot +4 over 2 days on a 76.1 rating course in order to qualify for the matches. so i think i´ll be playing just for fun and experience.

Shot a 78 on my 72par homecourse. First 9 I was 1 under, last 9 i made 3 bogeys than on the last: a blowup hole. Driver off the tee was a hook. With 260 yards left from the rough to the pin.I tried to make it with my 3wood, failed misarably, and shot it OB.  Took a drop and come off with a 7 on a par 4 XD. Course management people, Course management! :P

It was 70's today, unfortunately with 15-20 mph wind.  Tomorrow is suppose to be 40's and rain.  So I went out and played 18.  Shot 40 + 39 = 79 (2 birdies and those pesky two doubles - ugh!).

41-42 for an 83. Lots of wind today and I had a super round yesterday so I am not disappointed. Yesterday I could only get in 9 but shot a 38. Birdied the 1st hole which makes a big difference.

39(+4)-44(+9) for 83. Lots of near greens, quite a few simple up and downs. Very windy. Started very well, was +1 after 6, one blowup hole, pretty happy.

Weather was a pleasant 53 today in No. VA, my golf game was OK, putting was off.  Couldn't get a feel for the speed all day, 3-3putts for a smooth 39-40-79, 1 birdie and 1 double.  Hit two balls into hazard off poor drives.  Was leaving all of my drives to the right, draw was not there today.

Shot a 95 today.  Wasn't hitting the driver well.  Tight course too.  Buddy noticed a flaw in my swing. Was opening my hips way too early.  The final 5-6 holes were MUCH better.  Hit my new G30's too.  Might play 9 Sunday afternoon.
