What'd You Shoot Today?

Recommended Posts

Shot a 101 on my first 18 of the year. Par 5s killed me on the front, doubled the last three holes on the back. But I made some great putts, got up and down some, and had a lot of fun over all.

Played a great round of golf by myself today! Shot a 94, which is the best I've played since coming back to golf earlier this year. I shot a 45 on the front nine, and an equally good 49 on the back. The back is much tougher with water in play on both sides of most fairways, and hitting into the wind alot.

Your desire to change has to be greater than your desire to stay the same.

I shot a frustrating 94. I was flawless with the driver all day, and after going +4 for the first six holes, I thought I was in for a good round. Then I lost all control of my short game, and went the next six holes scoring no better than double bogey (including an 8 on a par 4 where I had 110 yards to the hole on my second shot). My touch started to come back, and I played the last six holes identically to the first six.

73 today. Par 71

Had a really strong wind for some perfect holes. Hit some absolutely mammoth tee shots. I don't usually talk about big drives when they're wind-assisted but damn was it nice to poke a couple out there. Hit 15/18 greens, really liked the way I hit the ball. Didn't putt fer shit though...hate that. Little bit rusty. Had two makeable eagle putts and walked away with a par and a birdie. I was pizzed

A new low round: 84 (+9/+6 on par 69) . The course is still recovering from the winter, but the greens are finally in shape for play. Unfortunately my scrambling isn't in shape at all: 10% up and down, with average UD first putt of 13 feet. Plenty to work on!

Home course: Lenzie Golf Club. Working on: ball striking.

97 at Oak Meadows for the first official round of this season. I wasn't too great off the tee only hitting 3 fairways, thus leaving myself typically more difficult shots into the green, but despite that I was quite satisfied with my round. I played a fairly challenging course (for me at least) and achieved 1 of my biggest goals: keeping an even keel and staying positive throughout the round. I also had 35 putts with only 2 3-putts. I know those aren't the greatest putting numbers, but that is an improvement over a typical round from last year. I guess all my living room practice is paying off!

93 49/44 First two holes, I went double/double. I actually had a quadruple bogey on an 85 yard par 3. I sucked the first one right back off the green into the water with my 60 degree. Chunked the next one into the water in front. I finally hit one on the green and two putted for my quad.

Three of my better shots came with my new 4h. Stuck it on the green from 180ish three times.

9 of 15 fairways, but only 5 GIR. 33 putts with two three putts.

Finally got to play my first official round of this season and was very pleased with the 83 that I shot. Was one over on the back going into 17th and went double, bogey to finish 41 on the back. Today was absolutely beautiful -> 28 degrees C. I can't remember it ever being this warm this early in the season. Looking forward to the rest of the season.

118...:( Goal for this year is to break 100, going to have to stop 3 putting every hole, ball striking was better, but my 50+ shots from 20yds and in killed.

Yesterday was probably the worst round of golf I have ever played- no joke. Hosel rocket city all day long. However, when I got home, I realized what I was doing wrong. Since I was practicing so hard to not "release" the club, I simply wasn't releasing it at all. Whoops. Before the round, I worked on impact again and I believe I was releasing at just the right time.

Anyway, I played my best round ever at the par 3 course today. I finished with a 3 over par score of 30.

Hole 1 150 yards: I sniped a 20 footer for par
Hole 2 140 yards: Double bogey. I actually executed a good chip shot on my 2nd shot, but it somehow ran off the green.
Hole 3 145 yards: Made the four footer for par
Hole 4 160 yards: I hit the shot of my life with a 5-iron to 5 feet and then sunk the birdie putt
Hole 5 165 yards: Bogey; I three putted- darn
Hole 6 125 yards: Bogey; Skulled my tee shot but got super lucky and stayed in play
Hole 7 135 yards: Par; missed the 30 footer for birdie and then made the five footer coming back
Hole 8 85 yards: This whole is so hard it's so easy; I hit a chip PW to 30 feet and two putted
Hole 9 185 yards: Par, almost holed a 40 foot putt from off the green for birdie, but it lipped out

1 Birdie, 5 pars, 2 bogeys, 1 double bogey for a +3 round.

Man that felt good. Golf is so bipolar. I hope my ballstriking stays at least this good for while!! Today was my fifth round of the year at the par 3 course. After a range session maybe or two with the longer irons and driver, I may finally hit up the real thing!

Played Carroll Meadows today. First time playing the course and I shot an 80(+9) which is my best score ever!

My short game was absolutely terrific today. I had numerous chips that left me with a tap in along with the highlight of my round which was my first ever sand save. It was one of the steepest bunkers on the course and I chipped it out with my LW leaving me an easy tap in of about a foot.

Career Bests:

9 Holes--37 @ The Fairways at Arrowhead-Front(+2)

18 Holes--80 @ Carroll Meadows Golf Course(+9)

75 on a par 70. 6 over on the front due to a couple of VERY wayward tee shots, and 1 under on the back with only 1 missed fairway. Go figure.
