They're gone. We have them in the database backup but have no plans to re-create them any time soon. This was announced before.

Look for the 4.1 updates.

We were done with Huddler and they were done with us.

Sounds like something went really sour. Never heard of Huddler but I guess that's the company that runs the software. Who does it now?

Came here to post about how the search function was driving me mad. Even when you click "show topics only" it still just gives me a bunch of random posts with a keyword or two. Totally forgot about the Google trick. Thanks for the reminder.:-)

Yeah it's hard to beat Google's search. I guess that's why a lot of sites just give in (like the company I work for) and just build in a custom Google search on their page. As opposed to having their own search function. Maybe thesandrap should do that.

I use old Taylor Made clubs from eBay and golf shops.

Folks,

You need to clean up your profile page and also check your private messages. Your inbox may be full. To delete a PM conversation, you need to select "Leave Conversation".

Once you leave a conversation to delete the PM, if the other party responds to the conversation, does it open it back up on your side and add you back to the conversation? Or do they need to create a new pm for you to receive a response?

They cannot respond, I don't think, unless they just add someone else to the conversation. They can't add the original person back. They can of course start a new conversation with the person.

It's the same for any picture within a post. I had to go through imgur to post pictures for my Adidas jacket review because my Galaxy S6 takes photos at a resolution high enough for them to be ~ 3-4 mb each in a JPEG format.

Can be? Yes.

Will be any time soon? Probably not.

Edit your photo to not be so large.

Yeah, I had to jump through a bunch of hoops myself with posting the golf bag review photos and re sending them from my phone at lower resolution once I bumped up against the limit. Really should only come up with photo heavy posts like reviews. Maybe those will have a dedicated place in the future like the old site and with a different limit. It's a problem that's fairly limited in scope, I imagine.

Just make the pictures smaller. We don't need to post 10-25 MP images when they're going to be viewed on a web page or a mobile phone. :-)

That still requires me to download a 3rd party editing software to change my photo before I can insert it. At that point going through imgur and linking the photos with a web address is easier than trying to compress each and every photo until it fits. While I agree those pictures aren't required on a regular basis, they would be nice to have with the reviews, especially for people with high resolution displays (my phone is a 2k display, many monitors are now 2k and 4k), to more accurately depict the product being reviewed.

4k is only 4096 x 2160, and at common viewing distances is unnecessarily large even though it's less than 10 MP.

We can re-investigate the sizing limits later, but for now, I'm comfortable with where they are.

And I get that more and more is being done on mobile devices where it's not as easy to edit a photo. Like I said, we'll investigate it later. For now, we have much larger fish to fry.

If you use Windows, just "open the photo with Microsoft Office". Then click "Edit Pictures". On the right margin you will see, "compress pictures". Web page choice will compress it to the right size for the forum.

Just curious, I'm not receiving emails on content I selected.

In the setting, it is showing "admin has the function disabled"

Sometimes it takes 2 or 3 attempts to load a video. I copied the URL from the Centered Hip Turn thread and it took 3 tries for it to embed. Could it be a firewall issue with my work system?

This happens to me too. Tried http instead of https and youtu.be, no difference. Also w/Instagram.

I don't know if it is just temporary glitch, but my last two replies have taken something like 2 minutes to refresh and post after I submit them.

Edit:  This reply took almost exactly 2 minutes - I timed it.

If it doesn't work right away I'll paste the URL into the location bar of the browser and let the site redirect to the new URL.

Then copy and paste that in to the text.

    • 78 today at Minnesott (36 front / 42 back) - a new first with an even par on the front.  A big day of up and downs for par.  Only 26 putts against 4 GIR and 5 nGIR.  Was a CPO (cart path only) day due to recent rains.  Overall game was on - until 18 where I was looking at having a first “no-sixes” and made a triple 7 (tee shot in the lake, 2nd tee in fairway, shot 4 approach to right of green pin high, shot 5 bogie on the green, long two putts for triple 7.  Still a solid round and new personal best.
    • I believe that 76 bpms is the tour average (or somewhere around that). I think that's from taking it back to impact. I'm not 100% sure of exactly how it works since a typical pendulum is already moving when it starts going back. The putter on the throughswing ideally would work pretty much exactly like a pendulum though. To get the exact same time period from starting the putter back to impact, you'll have to accelerate it a lot faster on a longer putt right at the beginning until it gets to the speed it needs to be to make the putter move the right distance. Probably all way too much to think about while actually hitting a putt, but bottom line is I agree entirely that a metronome is a good thing to use if you're working on your putting tempo. As to the split between backstroke and downstroke, the tour tempo lot said 2:1 is the ideal. 3:1 for full swing. 2:1 for short game and putting. Whenever I go on a SAM I am about 1.7:1 I think and I can't for the life of me get my backstroke to be slow enough to get it to 2:1. Ho hum. Last comment - if you do have a perfect pendulum putting stroke and you have the ball slightly forward of the center of your stance, then the putter should be just starting to rise again at impact and with the way that pendulum motion works, it should be very slightly decelerating at impact, which I believe someone may have suggested once 😛
    • Was going to chime in on Erik’s videos - they were and are solid teaching on better putting.
    • I'm a big fan of the metronome. I forget what my actual numbers were, but something like 0.59 seconds: my backswings, regardless of the length of the putt, is 0.59 seconds (or 0.72 or whatever the actual number was). The period of a pendulum is determined by the length of the pendulum. So, to hit a putt harder, you take it back farther… in the same amount of time. So you have to swing it faster, and thus, it comes through faster. The putter head has to travel faster to travel farther in the same amount of time. Everyone tends to have a "beat" that they like. For some it's slower, and they have to make bigger backswings to make a putt go the same distance as someone like Brandt Snedeker. It also has a metronome IIRC. 😄
    • Day 141 (20 Sep 24) -  Late getting to the weekly men’s scramble, plus the course was under a delay (rains yesterday saturated the course) so it was a solo round day. The course was 100% CPO (cart path only) so shot placement was key.  Opted to play the Diablo Edge Irons as “in my mind” the chunky, wide soles play better in wet turf coupled with Eye2 wedges (50.5 & 57.5).  Had best front nine ever - an even 36 (one bogie, one birdie and seven pars), back was typical at 6-over (could have been easily 3-over if not for the triple on 18 - can we say 1st drive into the lake, approach to the right of the green a s a long two putt) .  Long story short - as new personal best of 5 over for a 78.
