Shows how much of a grind it is to do what tour pros do. Don't get the point of the rattlesnake though. Probably missed one or more interesting frames as this commercial is dense with transitions.

Cool. However, I get to work at 5:45, so the 5:30 wake up time is sleeping in for me! :-P

It's funny because Nike put a big emphasis on Rory getting up at 5:30, and they make it seem like he's out all day working until 2 am then he's up again. In reality Rory and his trainer have told people that he never sleeps less than 8 hours a night, just to have his body recover healthily. I'm not saying Rory doesn't grind hard all day, but waking up at 5:30 was a huge emphasis of the ad, but when you go to bed at 10, its not a grind waking up that early. Maybe I'm just used to the 7AM classes though ;)

I think the rattlesnake was a reference to something that tiger said to Rory forever ago.

I wonder if one of the Nike guys is an Ohio State fan. Two years ago they used the slogan, "The Chase" for their National Championship winning season.

I like those type of Nike commercials where they let actions speak louder than words.

I like this commercial. I doubt there are very many other players that outwork Rory physically...

Should I buy a blender and lots of broccoli?  Is that the secret tip?

:hmm: I guess eye surgery is part of the chase? This is the weirdest shot in the commercial. Kind of gross too. It's golf, not A Clockwork Orange.

I could have gone without seeing that still...

I'm with the above posters regarding the 5:30am wake up. As far as I know, there's nothing particularly special about getting to the gym at 5:30am, is there? As long as a he does two work outs per day? I can start work outs at 5:30am and then 2:30pm or 9am and 6pm. What's the difference? lol

We don't know when he's going to sleep, if it's 9pm, hey, he's human after all. If it's 1am, the guy's an animal. :-)

I think the 5:30 am alarm, broccoli and gym workouts was to show the level of his commitment.

Most people view golfers as having an easy life, waking up late, lounging out to the range to hit a few balls and then squeeze in 9 or 18 before heading home for the night.  I guess Nike wants to change the image and show that being a golfer requires a high level of athleticism.

I like the commercial but wouldn't say it's their best.

I liked the 2005-2010 Nike commercials with Tiger in them. Maybe this is intended for an audience younger than me, but I am partial to those. This is nice, but nowhere near as good.

It is a bit creepy, but he did have his eyes lasered just to be able to putt a bit better... Goes with the commitment theme, I guess!

Currently focusing on: Key 4 - shorter backswing.

If this aired a few years earlier when Tiger was still healthy, they should've shown him near the end after all of Rory's clips, getting up at 4:30 am!
