Temps hit 92-94 in NE Ohio Saturday.  We teed off at 8:45 and finished up about 11:30 before it got too hot.

Living in NE Ohio, you will absolutely NEVER hear me complain about anything being too hot around here.  It's the 8-9 months a year that are TOO COLD to golf for me.

dave

It was about the same down here in SW Ohio. I sort of like to think of it as an acclimation weekend. Between yard work and golf, it shouldn't seem so bad next weekend.

It does make the game equally as uncomfortable as playing the 40's IMO, but that doesn't mean I won't play, just use those trees, and thankfully we get lots of wind being close to the coast.

Two to three years ago we had a spell of 100+ degree days with humidity.  I walked 18 carrying with the thermometer sitting at 103, just to see how bad/uncomfortable it would be.  It was playable but it is not something I would want to do on a regular basis.  Certainly a cart with a roof would make it better.

I live on Long Island, NY so it's rare we see temperatures over 95 so for me it's never too hot to play golf.  I'd prefer to play in temps less than 90 but I won't skip a round cause of high temps, it just means I have to drink more Gatorade and bring a change of clothes with me to the club.

I don't think I've yet really experienced a "too hot to play golf" day.  Plenty of too cold days.

Then again, I'm going to play quite a bit this summer in the Palm Desert area, and might make an August trip to Phoenix for some golf.

No sympathy. Here in the UK and Europe generally we've had a poor start to the summer. Some nice spells but struggling to break 20C (Google tells me that's 68F) for the most part and lots of stormy weather- wind and rain has to be the worse combination for golf!

I hear ya, dave! I live up here too, although I don't know about 8-9 months being too cold. It's usually at least 6 months of the year when we hit golf balls that feel like rocks.

I love when the really hot weather comes. Loosens up the joints and the golf ball flies really well!

No such thing as to hot. I live in the UK, and during the winter I was teeing off in minus temperatures. At present it's still pretty cold, it's still pretty wet, and it's always windy where I live. I will swap you our weather for yours tomorrow.

In my bag (Motocaddy Light)

Taylormade Burner driver, Taylormade 4 wood, 3 x Ping Karsten Hybrids, 6-SW Ping Karsten irons with reg flex graphite shafts. Odyssey putter, 20 Bridgestone e6 balls, 2 water balls for the 5th hole, loads of tees, 2 golf gloves, a couple of hand warmers, cleaning towel, 5 ball markers, 2 pitch mark repairers, some aspirin, 3 hats, set of waterproofs, an umbrella, a pair of gaiters, 2 pairs of glasses. Christ, it's amazing I can pick the bloody thing up !!

Mixed bag really. You guys do get a lot of rain and a lot of wind as I understand it. Wind does really suck. On the other hand, it never really gets cold there. By really cold I mean below 0 F (or -17.7 C). We can talk about you being cold when spit starts freezing on your lips in 20 seconds or less.

Here in Ohio we get the full treatment. 100-plus (37.7 C) at the height of summer. -20 F (-29 C) at the worst of winter and everything in between. Positively hilarious seeing my bruv's Indian work colleagues come in to town in January. Those boys are hating it.

LOL, we must be of similar age.  Heat + humidity = swing lube!

My league starts 1st Thursday of April each year. The weather was simply hideous the 4 weeks in April AND May.  Not one round did I not have full rain gear, or long-johns over pants, 3 shirts and a jacket.  Since it's after work league round, about 4pm is as warm as it gets and temps drop like a rock from 5-8pm, (or later!) as we finish up.

Golf is most definitely a WARM weather activity!  I'll continue to golf in April and May but I don't like it!

Not that the forecasts this far out are very accurate, but it looks like I better get out to the course this weekend... the lowest high temperature for basically the rest of the month is 104 (Bakersfield, CA).

Talked with a friend in Phoenix over the weekend who indicated the temps will pop above 120* this week....  :8)

We are 99* for the high today, I only saw a handful of guys and a few gals out when I played.

My cooler is stocked with ice, water and cold towels and I seek the shade as often as possible.

I've shot some of my best scores in hot weather. I've never been one to complain about the heat because I hate the cold so much.

That is not okay... I've learned to accept three digit temps, but that's just not cool (pun jntended). I'd only play in that temperature if I could drive my air conditioned truck onto the course.
