Tiger's 2017 Season

  1. 1. How will Tiger fare this season (assuming he remains healthy)?

    • Awful. He will miss a lot of cuts. He might not even make it through the whole season.
      23
    • Not great. He'll make a few cuts but nothing more.
      9
    • So-so. He might see the weekend more often than not, but nothing better than perhaps a couple of Top 20s.
      11
    • Not Bad. He makes many cuts, and even contends a little early on in the week but usually fades. No wins, but maybe a couple of Top 10s.
      21
    • Good. He shows flashes of his former self on the weekend often, and he contends several times. Maybe even a couple of Top 5 finishes.
      23
    • Really good. He plays well often, and he breaks through with many top finishes and even a win.
      15
    • Great. He contends more often than not, gets at least a win, and even contends at the majors.
      4
    • Superb. He makes a return to the old Tiger. Wins multiple times, one of them even being a major.

It's not certain that the issue he's having right now was caused by his violent swing or the SEAL training, I would think that's a big reason he is where is right now.

Denial ain't just a river in Egypt.

Oh brother.

Dude, nobody's denying anything. You have no recent information - and a statement that it's not nerve pain - disputing that it's nerve damage.

That's all I'm saying.

I'm on record elsewhere as saying he's done. Ultimately, I don't really care why. I'm in a "show me something".

Wow, everyone gettin their feelings hurt on a T.Woods conversation. Whats the point really in gettin worked up about it. Lets all just watch and see what happens. Who cares about the outcome. His glory or downfall effects non of us. Even if he makes a comeback it would be years before he even made it to the top 10, and we all know there aint that much time left. Also he doesn't strike me as the instructor type. LSS, he might win an event, but it wouldnt be one where all the big dogs showed up.

I'm not worked up about anything.

I don't think anyone else is, really, either.

I'd caution you against reading tone of voice into plain text.

I do not believe TW's will ever be a competitive golfer on the PGA Tour again. Certainly not competitive to his standards, but I mean no top 20 finishes. Period. Masters? He'll either not p lay at all or shoot +6 by Friday and go home.

I know I said short and painful, but I thought he'd last a little longer than that.

Hopefully he gets fixed up for Augusta.

If he plays good he is back, if he shoots 77s and misses cuts, his back hurts. There is the cliff notes. Perez is right that TW knows he can't beat anyone right now.

I am not nor have ever been a huge fan of Tiger Woods. I can't be sure, but I may even have played golf with his father in Italy when I was stationed with the NATO forces there.  In any event, despite his malady, I would not count him out entirely. Odds are against him, but others have miraculously pulled through greater circumstances than he.  He may have to make huge adjustments to his game, be a lot more cautious and less spectacular, but one never knows.

I think that if tiger finds a way to stay healthy for longer than 7 competitive rounds, he can possibly get back close to how he played in 2013-2014. But i think his winning major days are over.

I don't expect that to happen for about a week or so.

He still feels like he might as of now. I honestly think he's closer to playing since he's attending the champions dinner.

No. No he doesn't.

Hell, Jack and Gary will be there for the Champions Dinner.  They aren't gonna play either.

    • I honestly believe if they play longer tees by 300-400 yards, closer to or over 7,000 yards, more rough, tougher greens, women's golf will become much more gripping.  BTW, if it weren't for Scottie killing it right now, men's golf isn't exactly compelling.
    • Day 542, April 26, 2024 A lesson no-show, no-called (he had the wrong time even though the last text was confirming the time… 😛), so I used 45 minutes or so of that time to get some good work in.
    • Yeah, that. It stands out… because it's so rare. And interest in Caitlin Clark will likely result in a very small bump to the WNBA or something… and then it will go back down to very low viewership numbers. Like it's always had. A small portion, yep. It doesn't help that she lost, either. Girls often don't even want to watch women playing sports. My daughter golfs… I watch more LPGA Tour golf than she does, and it's not even close. I watch more LPGA Tour golf than PGA Tour golf, even. She watches very little of either. It's just the way it is. Yes, it's a bit of a vicious cycle, but… how do you break it? If you invest a ton of money into broadcasting an LPGA Tour event, the same coverage you'd spend on a men's event… you'll lose a ton of money. It'd take decades to build up the interest. Even with interest in the PGA Tour declining.
    • Oh yea, now I remember reading about you on TMZ!
