Might be good for Charley. Only chance he has at winning is coming from behind and being out of the spotlight. Ask Smylie Kauffman.

For those following along, Smylie played with Jordan last year in the final pairing.  He shot an 81.  But he did birdie #12 that day, which Jordan ... didn't.

Clever use of the hybrid from off the green by Sergio; always an underrated option.

Charley has to par out.

I've never seen a hybrid used that way before this tournament, seen it twice already. Adding that to my tiny bag of tricks.

Todd Hamilton used it to great effect in the 2004 British Open.

I'll look that up! I've only been watching for a year or so.

Sorry, didn't mean to imply you should remember it.  It was before I watched too!  Wanted to give you another use of it (in a different scenario) to help.

Haven't seen Sergio look so comfortable with the putter for a long time. Really hope he can do it, but a part of me thinks he'll just crumble like so many times before...

Last two groups tomorrow.

Sergio/Rosie

Spieth/Rickie.

Can't wait.

Just wondering if they would rather swap pairings or does it matter??/

Why did he have to say "Hollywood"pairings. He just made himself a bigger asshole than he already is.

Good to see David Duval turn his head away.

I'm thinking 8-under is going to be good enough to win. That would mean Charl Schwartzel, at 2-under, would have to shoot a 66 to take it tomorrow; lucky for him, he's done that before.

Anyone in the final four pairings has a reasonable chance.

I think Jordan will get to -8 at least.

Sergio is susceptible to strange mistakes more than Rose.  Jordan will play a couple from tough positions it's all about how he scrambles.  He will hit a couple tight approaches.

Rickie needs to hit it better.  His putting been good.  If he finds his swing he might have a say but I dunno if he can do it.

As always I think it's coming down the stretch on the back.  Whoever makes a move there may triumph.

I am hoping for a playoff.

    • I agree with the sentiment (about walking) but it’s uncalled for to make such a public comment - if you can’t say something nice don’t say anything, at least that’s how I was taught. Perhaps it was meant for private conversation and was mistakenly made public – I’m just a little younger than Faxon and I could easily make that mistake. At least in the last two places I’ve lived, there’s a certain sub-culture of the golf population that despite being younger would never consider walking (and usually drinks heavily while playing). It’s more about hanging out with the Bro’s in the outdoors than playing golf. I don’t have a problem with that, except that they often are less knowledgeable about golf etiquette and fail to let faster players through. As an aside, when I lived in TN, my main course was cart path only from December through March. It was a short, flat, very walkable course. It drove me crazy that all these fit young guys wouldn’t even think about walking, never realizing that they were probably walking just as much as I was and that they were playing slower.

    • I get the feeling he has come up with a lot of catch phrases to make himself sound competent. He could be right on some things, but it comes out as fake to me.  It bothered me when he pulled up the graphic of the human body, showing what looked like a muscle that cross the body (hip to opposite shoulder). There are no muscles that actually do that. There is this stretch and pull, but it isn't like a single muscle that is connected like that.

    • Well that started off okay - I was with him when he said that the goal is to reduce the gap between your good shots and your bad shots (unspoken, but clearly you want to do that by bringing the bad shots closer to the good shots and not the other way around). And then he lost me. I got as far as "once you've motored the spiral line..." and I just couldn't watch any more of it. So either I'm getting seriously wooshed (not impossible by any stretch), or he's talking a large amount of gibberish. Or I guess some combination of those two things.
