I read a review that said it took a bit of setting up to get it to work (at one point they had misaligned the phone and got a swing speed of 500+mph!).  

It isn't available outside the US so I couldn't get it to try out - not sure what the reasoning is behind that decision!

BFIT is now available for iOS devices through the App Store and will be coming to Android in the very near future. In development for more than five years, the technology in modern smartphones has finally reached a point where it can deliver against the original concept. The app records video of the user’s swing and analyzes it to provide swing speed, ball speed, launch angle, carry distance and total distance. Using this information BFIT will recommend the perfect golf ball for the user’s game.

The app was beta tested by attendees of the 2017 CES Show and was overwhelmingly praised. Video of Bryson DeChambeau showing it off in Las Vegas is available here.

Listen Boogie...you've got people here with old iPhone technology who are counting on you to test this thing out. So suck it up, put your long johns on, and get out there and hit some balls!!!  Layers...it's all about layering.  (As I sit on my patio eating lunch on a sunny 67* day  )

App page says requires iOS 8, if you've been upgrading, your phone should be on iOS 10. Bottom line is it should work on your 5. I keep a 5 around for a backup and it's still chugging along good.
