I see radar and some other device in front of DJ. What is that? It looks like the Foresight Launch Monitor. Why two?

Here is the Periscope of McIlroy and DJ at the range today:

For the same reason that a pro would pace off yardages AND use a laser, more data is always desired.  Also, because they can afford it.

Dude! You read my mind! I was going to say because he can afford it, and wants the additional data.

And can anyone imagine how some of the old timers, like Nicklaus, would have done with access to modern equipment and technology? It's kinda scary.

The second device is an extender for the TracMan so it can follow the ball to the end of his drives...:-P

Perhaps one is for the plug while the other is for the load.

Only those with hip-hop listening children will get that bad joke. My sincere apologies to those who try to make complete sense of these lyrics.

You don't have to, it would look just like a picture of Dustin Johnson hitting the ball on two devices today.

Probably not as good as DJ, Jordan, Tiger, etc. these days.

The "old timers" were generally not as good as the modern golfers. Nicklaus may be one of the few exceptions, but… like @billchao said, it'd look just like Dustin.

He appears to be using tackman (which is very good at tracking the ball) and Foresight GC2 with HMT which is very good at measuring launch conditions.

I have hit many many balls on Foresight GC2 with HMT.  It is an optical system that uses reflective dots on the clubface and measures an incredible amount of very useful information.

I believe that GC2 and HMT is better to actually dial in your swing.  It does all its measuring in the first several inches of flight.

I attached an example of data generated by GC2 with HMT  (that's Game Changer 2 with Head Measuring technology.)  When hitting shots it gives a graphic representation of the data that is easier to digest.

Here is a link to a review of the newer version of  system vs trackman.Foresight vs Trackman

If you are inside the GC2 is the way to go in my opinion any advantage trackman has is negated because of the limited flight.

I am assuming the shot above is after a single swing.  If you hit several balls with the same club can it also give you an average?

In my bag: All Lefty clubs
Goldsmith driver I built 10 degree reg flex, Orlimar 14 degree 3 wood, 7 wood
Cobra Oversize 3 and 4 iron; Gigagolf Ion Control 5 iron through PW firm flex and 1 inch over with 3 degrees upright
Golfsmith SW that I built, steel shaft reg flex, Cleveland Tour Action Raw 60 with dynamic golf stiff
Scotty Cameron Teryllium Newport putter

Absolutely.  It gives you ball paths, dispersion all the data you would want.
