Haha, just saw his tee shot on four. It didn't look too crazy, like in years' past. A tad aggressive yes, but not as bad as we've seen before. Maybe the adrenaline's down a bit now and he's more comfortable?

It looked a lot better on Hole 9 tee shot.  So maybe he's just settled in more now.  Except he's chunked a few chips.  Haven't watched them closely, but it appears his technique is off.

This is the first tee shot? That's pretty tame for Woods.

The recoil shot @nevets88 just posted makes me nervous, but maybe I'm just being a concerned mommy on the first day of school haha.

It didn't look as smooth in the follow through. Could've been a part of why he pulled it instead of the cut he wanted.  First tee jitters I guess or I'm thinking into it too much.

I haven't watched a whole lot of golf recently, but it seems to me like the pants get tighter every year haha.

There needs to be someone punk rock on tour who brings back the JNCOs style jeans, just to troll everyone.

Big but edgy drives with body english, 260 yard 2 iron, couple of 25 footers, few burned edges..it's all happening! Phew... it's only been 8 holes and I am exhausted already..

WTF with the chunks Tigs....

Tightly mowed aprons and hitting high lofted clubs will do that even to the best players. He's not the only one, just so much attention is being placed on him that we are seeing every single one of his chunks where other peoples might not make it on the telecast.

Update: Speaking of that, Kevin Chappell just chunked a pitch shot as well. Tiger isnt the only one.

The co-leader just missed the green from 30 yards because he chunked it. Chappel.

Bermuda with a lot of grain into you sucks. The ball sits down, so you swing down to it, and yet you still catch the fluffy "falls apart" grass that's not really "behind" the ball, but which the ball is sitting down into.

You basically have to hit those a few dimples thin. Which sucks.

It's particularly bad on sandy soil, because it further dissipates and absorbs clubhead speed.

I'll chip in a few bucks towards the sponsorship if this becomes a reality.

And wow, even Tiger can't keep sixes off his scorecard all the time :-(

    • The first issue Erik spoke about is something we worked on for my swing during both GEARS sessions. GEARS was showing my pelvis center moving towards the ball during the back swing. I wasn’t the 4” guy though! This forced me to correct on the downswing to give myself space. My hip rotation was to high as well. We corrected it by first getting the weight off my heels in my stance and getting my posture correct. Then the feel was shifting back into my right hip at a 45 degree angle. This kept my pelvis center from moving towards the ball at the start of the backswing. I also didn’t sway back as much as I felt I did because of the angle I was shifting. Feel Ain’t Real. The cool thing about GEARS is as you work on something you can see the exact (Real) change happening. On video, it is much harder to spot this issue because of the 2D nature of filming. But I know what to look for now. Sadly, I was hurt all last year and most of this year so I really haven’t been able to work on it much. I did do a lot of backswing work though.
