The yearly Bill Murray, Chris Berman, and Kenny G tournament is upon us.

Such a pain to watch, despite it taking place at Pebble Beach…

It is painful to watch celebrities golf. I can watch bad golf when I play so I don't need to see it on TV.

When I first visited the area, saw that the lone cypress tree was behind a chained link fence. Such disappointment. Like seeing the Mona Lisa behind a plastic barrier and dozens of people flashing away despite no flash signs.

Kill slow play. Allow walking. Reduce ineffective golf instruction. Use environmentally friendly course maintenance.

I always enjoy watching this event. Not for the celebrities, I could care less. However, I enjoy seeing how everyone plays the iconic course I want to play so badly.

You could play a drinking game, there's nothing like this, it's heaven, down a shot. You won't it past an hour.

Toss in Nantz talking about how he makes his home there and lives right by the course.

The slebberdy stuff can get rather tiresome; but I always enjoy seeing the course.

In der bag:

I basically wait till Sunday night and fast forward through two days of "action" in less than an hour for regular events. It's been unwatchable live for me, regular events, for like at least 10 years. With swings on Twitter here and there, I'm more than fine with it. Pebble and Phoenix are the worst of it.

Well, this is the tourney that has gotten me Jonesing for the golf season to begin for many years! Of course, I began watching when it was the "clambake", with Bing, and Phil Harris holding court!

I just love looking at the place!

I like any tournament that is still being played at an iconic golf course. Could care less about all the celebrity players (although it seems like every year there are fewer of them).  On the plus side, at least the big name tour guys are playing the Pro Am more than in the past. Lots of big names this year. I played most of the courses they use for the tournament so it makes it a little more interesting for me.

My bag:

Taylor Made R7 (x-stiff).
Taylor Made Burner 2 irons (stiff)
Cleveland Wedges (gap and 60)
Odyssey two ball putter (white)

I agree. I dont care to see celebrities golf, either. When I've watched this tournament, i really only watch the last few holes from the leaders. The broadcast seems to focus more on the professionals then.

It's hardly appointment viewing for me, but I don't mind seeing the celebs.

Besides, It's just one week out of an entire year.

Cant be as bad as the Pro-Ams we get in the UK. We used to have to put up with the likes of Jimmy Tarbuck, Jimmy Hill and good old Bruce Forsythe (at least he was a laugh).

Now its just retired footballers and former members of One Direction.

Most painful tourney of the year to watch.  I'll catch some action on Sunday when I can avoid the celebs.

Actually, it surprises me just how good some of the celebs are! Considering their schedules they must really love the game to be able to keep their HI's and swings in shape.

Ii mean, we're a long way from Jack Lemmon who played in so many of these and never made the cut!
