Wow, Furyk was like "I'm going to win or lose it here"

(ref. Furyk tee shot on 17... right at the pin)

As Furyk walking towards the green chatting with his fellow competitor's caddie.

Furyk's approach to #18 not too shabby either.

Fleetwood just hit a great second on #16.  Either he pushed it or he's super brave.

I'd guess that he went straight for it. He only had like 175 or so

Probably.  I wouldn't have tried that shot from that distance, but he has a nonzero chance to win this and success would help quite a bit.  And also he's a lot better at golf than I am.  And he hits it further than I do, since I'd have needed a 3H from there (assuming still conditions).

You're right, of course, but his chances with two holes left are better one shot off Furyk and two off McIlroy than if he were further back.

If McIlroy bogeys the last, Fleetwood only needs to play the last two in one under to get to a playoff.

... but after that tee shot from Rory, I don't foresee a bogey.

... and after that shot from Tommy (tee shot #17), he's practically out short of a big mess up from Rory and some very good luck on his part.

The No Laying Up podcast gave McIlroy a lot of grief an episode or two ago, I think one guy even asked it he would ever win again. Congrats on the win!

I was just thinking about that.  I've been listening to NLU lately and have been really enjoying it.

I've been listening to them for a while now and I really like them. Their YouTube videos are entertaining too.

Rory's been playing some really solid golf this season, 5 straight top 6 finishes and now a win.

Gotta be considered one of the favorites for The Masters.

I really wanted to see Furyk win, but not really disappointed that Rory did.

It was a lot of fun watching Furyk finish though!

Congrats to Rory on a St. Paddy Win!

Best regards to all others, but especially for Jim Furyk. Had he won, the rewards for him (especially at age 48) would've gone far beyond the  $2.25 million 1st prize -- a five-season PGA Tour exemption thru 2023-24, plus invitations to all four Grand Slam majors thru 2021.
