Okay. I just didn’t know why you kept saying it. I felt it must be important for some reason.

Frankly I don’t either.😐

I think it’s silly that Daly still plays in these things, but the PGA had little choice in granting the exception. It would have been pretty bad publicity to fight it, and...hell, maybe it picks up a couple extra viewers.

(FWIW, since I think someone asked above: if his arthritis is chronic and really does prevent him from walking down hills, it’s almost certainly a “disability” covered by the ADA.)

Does the PGA have any special way they do the groupings? I think they need to put Rory, Tiger, DJ and Brooks in the “Chamblee Group.”

In previous decades, Woods would have had to wait two months to play in another major. The new calendar offers a major every month from April to July.

17 tee?

Attention shoppers, Elvis, errrr, Tiger, is crossing the "highway".

That's Round Swamp Road. To quote Obi Wan, "That's no highway!"

Driver give him quite some buffer room. Usually, the crappy drivers here are right up on you because you're just roadkill.

Kill slow play. Allow walking. Reduce ineffective golf instruction. Use environmentally friendly course maintenance.

How many players can get views crossing the road? I'd hazard a guess at one.

Really looking forward to this. I'm bringing my 4 year old on Tuesday. I might spend more time getting there than I spend there, but hey ho. He's pretty excited about it. Going again on Friday on my own. Likely be spending more time in the bar tent that day :)

I'm gonna go on Tuesday, weather will be overcast, hope it won't rain. Not looking forward to the commute already. 😜

Doh. I dunno why I'm complaining about the commute. Taking the train in. Easy peasy.

I’ve played Bethpage many times on WGT golf. So feel like I know the course. This was a really good video.

I am discussing BPB on GCA and I don’t feel like it’s a very good course architecturally. It’s just difficult. Driver to a narrow fairway. Lofted approach covering bunkers. Repeat again.

Next two days of practice rounds should be interesting. Temps in the mid-40s and rainy. Welcome to a PGA Champ in May.

Good news is weather for the four days looks good. Temps in the 60s and only some showers, nothing horrible.

That thread is cracking me up, btw.

The main article, while over 15 years old, is an Interesting read:

https://golfclubatlas.com/courses-by-country/usa/bethpage-black/

"The Black relentlessly asks the golfer to hit high long irons.  The option of a run-up shot is regrettably absent for a course that is both long and exposed to the wind."

It kind of makes it more interesting for me when weather is a factor. These guys are so good, they sometimes need an obstacle to separate them other than the course being set up crazy hard like the US Open. When the British Open has good weather, it is a disappointment for me.

Looks like "Cart Path Only" for certain players with power carts.

Is this true? That's hilarious

Except for some maintenance roads there are no cart paths on the black.  It is a walking only course for everyone. Daly could possibly be the first person who will play that course with a golf cart.  Even if a group pays the outrageous fee to hold a shotgun start they can use carts to get to their starting hole but have to leave them there and walk the round with a caddie.

    • Went to a PING fitting day today. Going to be ordering a G430 Max 3w with a 75g x-stiff shaft at 5w length and a 3h. I forget what my fitter did with the shaft on that but she told me she’s going to email the club the specs of everything. The 3w combination we found pretty quickly. As for the hybrid, we tried a bunch of different head and shaft combinations for that distance with mixed results. Then she handed me the 3h and I took three swings with it and knew it was the one.
    • Yeah, this isn't sandbagging. It's outright cheating. He should be banned.
    • That’s quite a generalization. It’s clear that you don’t like water but there are plenty of us that drink it just fine. My daily intake is usually about 20oz of black coffee, 16oz of soda, 8oz of milk mixed into a protein shake, and anywhere between 30-60oz of water. It doesn’t even need to be cold and I kind of prefer it closer to room temperature than cold. I quite like the taste of tap water, with sole exception being the tap water at Magic Kingdom (it’s terrible). I can’t stand when people bring me tap water with a lemon wedge in it. I didn’t ask for lemon in my water.
    • This is the part I don’t get. He’s not even kind of sandbagging, he’s blatantly doing it and submitting scores that are verified to be incorrect. How he’s not banned from competition is beyond me.
    • He's right in what he's saying.I also have done this experiment with a golf shaft swinging with one arm at a time.one arm at a time is for me very fast but both hands together are very slow ..I got my 17 year old son to do this experiment and he swung very fast with either hand and he swung very fast with both hands together..My conclusion up to now is ; I'm not using my wrists properly but I not a 100 percent sure just yet..I will keep trying to fathom this out .I'm a 12 handicap and my son is 3.9 at Westlancs..
