Just put your choice in the poll above and explain it down here. My lowest round is an 89. Just shot it in August. Played a course down at the beach, 6300 yards from whites. I hit the ball excellent that day, including the best bunker shot of my life! You can post the card if you want, I probably will later tonight.

2 over (74) is my lowest round, so far.  Still have not had par or better.

70 on a par 71 course (70.5/118 - 6,339 yards).  My only under par round.  I have shot a few even rounds but that was the lowest.  It was during a Hudson Mills Men's Championship and I think I won an umbrella.  Woo hoo!

66 in a tournament in Hawaii.  Paired that with a 71, 78 and 80.  Finished 4th.  I had everyone thinking I was pretty damn good after the first day (I wasn't... just in a groove).  Too many eyes on me.

Oh, it’s supposed to say 70-79. I must’ve done 75 and not noticed.

65 (-7) I have done it 3 times. The first time was in a member-guest tournament where I was the guest. I was a 1 handicap at the time...they were not happy.

Well, you proved to the members that you’re a darn good golfer. Did you end up winning?

70 at the Las Prados, and Angle Park courses. Did it 3, or 4 times iirc.  Both are par 70 courses, or at least they were back then..Have not played either one in many, many years

This was back in the day when I was totally healthy, before the car wreck, and as a single digit capper.

I have never scored below par for a course. Have a couple of 71s, and several 72s.  Just never was able to get past that par hump.

High 70's.  Have played a couple of rounds in single digit handicap on some par 70 and 72 courses.  That option wasn't there (76-80) so haven't selected it.  Never understood the obsession with the number of strokes.  I always treated it as so much over/under par.  So, a 75 on a par 72 is better than a 74 on a par 70 course 🤷‍♀️

I guess I can't vote on this.
I've made a few 76's. But, that option isn't available to vote.

On 9 holes I've had a 36, a couple of 37's and a pile of 38's.

My bag is an ever-changing combination of clubs.

A mix I am forever tinkering with.

My 76's are unavailable as well. Only one thing to do... Shoot a 75 or better.

Shot a 68 last year while I was 68 years old. Shot my age. 6 birdies. 2 bogeys, 10 pars. Everything just seemed to click. Had a couple 70-72 rounds this year, but trying for that 69 round so I can shoot my age again.

    • I'm not sure you're calculating the number of strokes you would need to give correctly. The way I figure it, a 6.9 index golfer playing from tees that are rated 70.8/126 would have a course handicap of 6. A 20-index golfer playing from tees that are rated 64/106 would have a course handicap of 11. Therefore, based on the example above, assuming this is the same golf course and these index & slope numbers are based on the different tees, you should only have to give 5 strokes (or one stroke on the five most difficult holes if match play) not 6. Regardless, I get your point...the average golfer has no understanding of how the system works and trying to explain it to people, who haven't bothered to read the documentation provided by either the USGA or the R&A, is hopeless. In any case, I think the WHS as it currently is, does the best job possible of leveling the playing field and I think most golfers (obviously, based on the back & forth on this thread, not all golfers) at least comprehend that.

    • Yes it's true in a large sample like a tournament a bunch of 20 handicaps shouldn't get 13 strokes more than you. One of them will have a day and win. But two on one, the 7 handicap is going to cover those 13 strokes the vast majority of the time. 20 handicaps are shit players. With super high variance and a very asymmetrical distribution of scores. Yes they shoot 85 every once in a while. But they shoot 110 way more often. A 7 handicap's equivalent is shooting 74 every once in a while but... 86 way more often?
