Wow, that is rough.  I've always wondered how this course looked into and after the summer.  Now I know.  😬

Seems like all of us could find someone with tickets and get Masters gear. I had a friend go in 2010 and my hat could use an upgrade.

It's weird having The Masters this late in the year, but man am I excited to see how it turns out. I imagine the course might be in a different condition than usual, but it's still just such a unique event. This is one tournament where I'll miss the usual crowds, since the crowds at Augusta aren't the ones shouting about mashed potatoes.

No Laying Up did a pretty cool podcast with Matty Kelly, Marc Leishman's caddy, talking about shots that Marc hits on every hole, and also delving into what Bryson might hit on each hole. Definitely worth the 85 minutes I spent on it. This year is going to be awesome.

An episode of How's My Hand Path? with guest Scott Fawcett, who worked with Bryson, Fawcett talks specifically about some holes, I forget which. I think it was 2 or 3 weeks ago, the episode.

We’ve been making those to snack on while watching. They’re actually pretty good.

Not sure it’ll be much different. The forecast is showing high 70’s low 80’s all four days. Gotta love the South!

Which player 40 y.o. and above you think could have the best shot to win the Masters this year?  Not Tiger I'm afraid. He can't seem to get out of this funk from playing in the early weekend groups. He has had a string of tournaments where he barley makes the cut and struggles on the weekend. For the win...I think Paul Casey perhaps. Phil Mickelson I think could win too.  Maybe not win but I think Bernhard Langer and Fred Couples will make the cut.

Lefty....LOL......luv FIGJAM....and so do the locker room attendants......he'll have a few big rolls of C-Notes to hand out this week.

Just heard Matthew Wolfe say there are quite a few cottages around Augusta Nat'l....I didn't know that.

It will rain on and off for all 4 days which favors the long hitters. I am picking Justin Thomas and Collin Morikawa, 2020 leaders with strokes gained/approach stat, to win. I am super excited but I don't have ESPN to watch on Thursday and Friday. I have to stream to watch featured group and Amen corner holes.

Irons: 0.5 inch short and 2* Flat Mavrik 5 to AW (AW-105, PW-120, 9-135, 8-145) The lofts for these clubs are about 3* to 5* stronger  than standard.

Wedges: Mizuno MP-R series 52* and 56*. (80, 60)

Nickent: 4DX 2 hybrid 17* and 4 hybrid 23* (185 and 170 carry)

3 Wood: Tour Edge XGC 13* (195 carry)

Driver: Callaway FT IZ Driver 9* (210 carry, ~230 total)

    • Probably since the golfer has to swing the club back and up. The hands have to move back and up. You can feel them go back and up just by turning the shoulders and bending the right arm, because it brings your hands towards your right shoulder.  The difference is if you maintain width or not. Less width means a shorter feeling swing path so the more you need to lift the arms. Being as someone who gets the right arm bend at 110+ degrees, it's 100% a timing issue. I am use to like a 1.5+ second backswing. It probably should be like 1 second at most. Half a second or more will feel like an eternity. I have had swings where I keep my right arm straighter and I am still trying to time the downswing based on the old tempo.  Ideally, for me, it is probably going to be a much quicker and shorter (in duration) backswing, while keeping the right elbow straighter. Which also means more hinging to get swing length without over swinging.

    • I'm currently recuperating from surgery, so no golf, but have been thinking about this quite a bit. This and the don't overbend the right arm thing. It's hard for me to even pose the position, so I'm not 100% sure, but I feel like it's impossible to have the right humerus along the shirt seam and not overbend your right arm, unless your hands are down near your hips. If the left arm is up at or above the shoulder plane and your right arm is bent less than 90 degrees, then your right humerus has to raise or your hands will get pulled apart. Your left hand can't reach your right hand unless either the right upper arm is up or the right arm is overbent. Is that right? If it is, then focusing on not overbending the right arm would force you to raise the humerus. And actually thinking further on it, if you do overbend your right arm, then you're basically forcing your upper arm down or forcing your left arm to bend. Since (for me at least) bending the left arm too much is not something I think I need to worry about, it means that the bend in the trail arm is really the driving force behind what happens to the right humerus.
    • I managed to knock off a 3, a 13, and a 15 a couple of weeks ago. The 3 was a 185 yard par 3 with a 6 iron to 12 feet. 13 was a 350 yard par 4, which was a 2 iron and a 9 iron to about a foot. 15 was a 560 yard par 5 with a driver in a bunker, 4 iron into the semi, gap wedge to 8 feet and a putt.
