I think it was just the letter he wrote several days ago in response to a WA golf alliance thingy. Basically saying we are not essential regardless of the benefits of golf and social distancing. I could see WA opening them if we hit the flatline in cases. Fingers crossed...

Phil, in my book, you're essential.

Did the Governor just have another press conference?  I'm using a local school soccer field to practice full wedges, with the blessing of the School District, as long as I maintain social distancing.  This morning I distanced myself from my wedge by about 125 yards, fairly tight dispersion near the goal post.  Right stanchion.

I checked Lake Spanaway Golf Course which was one of the last hold outs in the area and it's now closed. *sigh*

What isn’t allowed:

Participating in any in-person leisure, hobby or social clubs
Attending or playing in sports games and practices
Going to weddings or funerals
Attending religious services
Visiting museums, theaters, art galleries or fundraisers
Going to concerts, festivals or parades
Working out at a gym or fitness center
Going to nail salons, barbers or tattoo parlors
Going out to bars or eating at restaurants (Both are closed for those activities anyway.)

Basically, Inslee said, the order restricts any social, spiritual or recreational gatherings.

This was Inslee’s specific response to golf. 2A5A0490-8DAA-4DAC-B403-A7A5D1697113.thumb.png.824d4b27435498e57062678420ce225b.png

Last round for 30 days will be played today. I have played every day since Feb 27th. Our stay at home order goes into effect at midnight 😑

There are still courses open in the area, with in 90 miles of Vegas, but quite a few have shut down too.

I have also heard, but not verified, that some of the courses have raised their green fees.

I'm taking the better safe than sorry route, and not playing any golf right now. My wife, the retired doctor thinks staying away from others is still a good policy. I consider her my expert.

This virus is still spreading rapidly, and there seems to be some evidence beginning to appear that it could be airborne.

I suspect if this virus doesn't show any signs of slowing down, that more courses will be closing up for a while.

The courses at our Winter home in Florida are still open, as of today classified as essential businesses.

The courses at our Summer home in Missouri, where I am the Player Services Supervisor at one, are closed by city order, and are not classified as essential businesses.

Two weeks ago, before the doo doo hit the fan big-time, I played at one of our Florida courses.  I was in and out of the clubhouse, got water/cup/straws from the public water station, with no precautions being observed, got paired with three strangers, and rode with one of them.

Afterwards, even though the virus had not really taken off yet, I thought how stupid am I?

PS: If you're not staying at home, or you're having contact with people who are not staying at home, you're stupider than me.

You can’t get much more socially distanced than this.

Well. the sucker is in the fairway, but you will need to put the little white bastard on an airplane to get it home.

That actually makes a lot more sense now that I look at it.

What is that? About 150 away on that par five at the back of the property?

Modified my vote today, but I didn't see the putting green and/or driving range is closed, but course is open. The other really odd thing is the single rider, single cart, because effective today, we can't even ride with our wife's/husbands/significant others. Separate carts for all of us. They also modified the tee time arrangement to mostly shotgun starts. Explanation given was that they can space the groups, every other hole, etc.

WA had just extended the stay home policy to may 4. No golf for another month maybe. Good thing I ordered a net and mat. Already have my launch monitor.

I mean better to contain it than risk certain businesses opening. But ugh...

OK I see another of my posts was removed by the "PC Police". I'm thinking I may have to go whole hog, just to keep them busy and on their toes.
