It just seems that this got blown way out of proportion and it is hard to believe that they cannot see this. It also seems so easy to remedy. No one is trying to drag out where the letter came from. No one is trying to place blame on anyone. All they want is to have the chance to play. Good luck! I hope they get to play!

Geez. Getting to advance past district, and hopefully play in the state championship is one of those things that a high school athlete looks forward to most. To not be able to do that due the circumstances listed would be quite the disservice to those young ladies. I have sent a letter. Hope things turn out for the best.

Yes, all it would have taken on Friday or Saturday morning was to say "you know what, mistakes were made, but not by the girls themselves, so we'll let them re-enter and play." And all that would have to be done now is to say "you know, mistakes were made, but not by the girls themselves, so we'll expand the field at States by two and admit them to play, as they're clearly the two best players from the area/district/region."

Thank you!

This would be the simplest solution. It doesn’t stop the other two girls that “qualified” from competing, but allows the two that should have been in those spots to compete.

Looks better for them, too. Right now it looks like administrative BS and they don’t know what they’re doing.

BTW congrats on passing 10,000 posts.

Now back to our regularly scheduled shock and disbelief.

Thank you. I'm starting to suspect it will not. 😞

Thank you. I've gotten angry so many times, and cursed while telling so many people about this, that I've just about run out. Until it's all replenished again, that is.

Sent a letter through the website.

Unfortunately, many times ppl don't want to admit their errors or have a reason to not admit it besides foolish pride.

I hope this gets rectified.

My letter is in.  I’m sure the PIAA will love it.

What an egregious decision, at least thus far.

Hope we can swing their decision.

Thank you, Brad.

I'm honored that so many people see the tragedy in this and are willing to take the time to send a letter.

On the 20th, when the state championship is played and we're sitting in Erie.

We had a lawyer send a letter to them yesterday.

    • Yes it's true in a large sample like a tournament a bunch of 20 handicaps shouldn't get 13 strokes more than you. One of them will have a day and win. But two on one, the 7 handicap is going to cover those 13 strokes the vast majority of the time. 20 handicaps are shit players. With super high variance and a very asymmetrical distribution of scores. Yes they shoot 85 every once in a while. But they shoot 110 way more often. A 7 handicap's equivalent is shooting 74 every once in a while but... 86 way more often?
