I recently bought a pair of Footjoy Pro SL and they aren't bad as far as comfort but they squeak and it is driving me nuts...lol. May have to go back to the True Linkswear myself.

My True knits squeak if I put my Sole inserts in them. Makes me crazy. I have high arches and the True inserts have no arch.

I cannot stand it..lol.  Little sounds like that just feel like they are poking my brain. It happens in vehicles too. My feet are as flat as a 2x4, so I'd have no problem there

Do you walk or ride?

I got maybe a season out of each pair (walking, alternating between two pairs).  Fortunately, they changed their styles a little a couple of years ago, so they didn't fit my feet as well anymore.  I've still got two pair left, but I only use them if I'm going to ride a cart or walk my 9-hole par executive course.  (Fortunately, because I went to a cheaper Footjoy.)

I walk. I also like to alternate between 2 pairs.

I'm kind of surprised yours didn't do better. Were they the cage variety? Those things seem like they are bullet proof.

My bag is an ever-changing combination of clubs.

A mix I am forever tinkering with.

I've never tried those. But my Cage EVO's and Ecco Cage Pros are still going strong. They are both at least 3 years old. I'm a descent sized guy, I weigh about 185-190 pounds. So not the heaviest, but certainly not the lightest either.

I have a pair of ecco bioms and my toes get very cold in winter which is annoying. I’m mainly using them for work shoes when I’m out teaching.

I have four pairs of golf shoes, all of which have spikes:

  • Nike Lunar Fire
  • Nike Lunar Command 2
  • Nike Roshe G Tour
  • Adidas Tour360 XT

Nike doesn't make the Lunar Fire or Lunar Command 2 anymore, but I really like them. They don't make the Roshe G Tours anymore either, but I was able to get a brand new pair off EBay for pretty cheap a few months ago. Highly recommend them if you can find them - they're very comfortable, they look great, and the sole is nice (not too tall). The Tour version of the Roshes are the ones with leather uppers and spikes. (They make a non-Tour version without spikes and with a cloth upper.)

If you can't find those, I also like the Air Zoom Victory Tour models.

I don't like the Adidas shoes and have basically stopped wearing them. The sizing was weird (I'm very consistently an 11.5 in all Nike shoes, but I had to go to an 11 wide in those Adidas shoes), and the heel is really, really thick. Bizarrely so. I honestly don't know how their Tour players wear them. I've had Adidas golf shoes before and liked them fine, so I'm not sure why these ones are so different. I would stay away.

If @xrayvizhen is looking for spiked shoes then in my mind there is no question. He should buy Eccos. Ideally, one of the cage varieties. They pretty much last forever and a day.

I've had good luck with Under Armour. I've had good luck with Nikes and with Footjoys. I've also had less than great experiences with those as well. The only two brands I seem to ALWAYS be satisfied with is Ecco and TRUE.

If you want a SPIKED shoe, that will be comfortable and last a long time Ecco Cage shoes are a can't miss.

I wear nothing but Ecco dress shoes for work.  Phenomenal shoe but the golf shoes kill my feet.  It drives me crazy as the rest of the Eccos are so nice.

I have found Footjoy Pro SL spike less as a very comfortable and great traction.

Never tried these. But they make some pretty bold claims. Right there on the website it says putting these shoes on will take you from an 18 handicap to an 11 handicap.....

$200? No thanks. And Faldo would endorse Canada Goose turds as beneficial to golf courses if the geese could pay him.

This season I purchased my third pair of Foot Joy Classic spiked shoes. I find they last for years, (I guess that depends on how much you play, I play like once or trice a week but not in the winter). For me they are very comfortable and I like the classic look, plus the price is right.

I wear the Eccos, and Kent Wool socks. Play all year in NC, and feet stay warm in the winter, and not hot in the summer.

I would not invent a bicycle and advise something new. Despite the fact that the Yeezy 350 sneakers are not new in the Adidas collections, they are very popular not only because of their stylish appearance, but also because of the unique innovative technologies implemented in them. Not so long ago the company released a new version of these sneakers, which is radically different from previous models. I bought this model myself https://www.forstepstyle.com/fashion-marketplace/nike/jordans/air-jordan-1/ and so far I haven't found anything better for running and sports.

Those really would be good for golf shoes.

    • A 5400 yd course is not that short for gents driving it 160 yards considering the approach shot lengths they are going to be faced with on Par 4s.  Also, for the course you are referring to I estimate the Par 4s have to average longer than 260 yds, because the Par 5s are 800 yds or so, and if there are four Par 3s averaging 130 the total is 1320 yds.  This leaves 4080 yds remaining for 12 Par 4s.  That is an average of 340 per hole. Anyway, if there are super seniors driving it only 160ish and breaking 80 consistently, they must be elite/exceptional in other aspects of their games.  I play a lot of golf with 65-75 yr old seniors on a 5400 yd course.  They all drive it 180-200 or so, but many are slicers and poor iron players.  None can break 80. I am 66 and drive it 200 yds.  My average score is 76.  On that course my average approach shot on Par 4s is 125 yds.  The ten Par 4s average 313 yds.  By that comparison the 160 yd driver of the ball would have 165 left when attempting GIR on those holes.
    • I don't think you can snag lpga.golf without the actual LPGA having a reasonable claim to it. You can find a ton of articles of things like this, but basically: 5 Domain Name Battles of the Early Web At the dawn of the world wide web, early adopters were scooping up domain names like crazy. Which led to quite a few battles over everything from MTV.com You could buy it, though, and hope the LPGA will give you a thousand bucks for it, or tickets to an event, or something like that. It'd certainly be cheaper than suing you to get it back, even though they'd likely win. As for whether women and golfers can learn that ".golf" is a valid domain, I think that's up to you knowing your audience. My daughter has natalie.golf and I have erik.golf.
