When it comes to film or music, I’m not particularly nostalgic about the NYC of my childhood, probably because I still live here.

Still, Lou Reed’s New York, the 1989 underappreciated classic, instantly brings tears to my eyes.

No song evokes late 80s New York City grit, hope and pain better than “Dirty Boulevard” or “Romeo and Juiliet”.

I miss Lou Reed.

Gah. Shallow hit #1 on Billboard. I'll Never Love Again is the better song. I will fight everyone on this.

I heard this song on the radio the other day. I don't get it. It's not good.
