Stealing from Michael Breed…

I voted, but will share my reasoning later on when it won't be auto-merged into this first post. 😉

With his leg situation, he may not be playing too much more golf.   He stated that he wants to play the majors and a few more.    I would think he would ultimately like to play with Charlie and that may drive his decision to continue as a player.   He stated he can hit the shots but just has a problem walking.    The Champions Tour gives him that luxury.   He could still return to the PGAT to play with Charlie.

I believe he would be helpful to the PGAT as its commissioner.  On the other hand, the PGAT seems to be doing well enough as is with just some of the current players speaking their opinions.   I'm sure his voice carries a significant amount of weight.

I changed my mind while typing so I voted continue playing, just to eventually play with Charlie.

I wanted to vote for both. More Tiger = Better.

But I think I'd like him to be commissioner.

I never watch the Champions tour. Not that I have anything against it. I think Tiger as Comish would keep him in the forefront.

Oh, crap. That's what I get for "really" reading.

I'm going to keep the same vote. Because of his leg and other injuries.

Neither?

I'd guess Champions Tour before commissioner.

Commissioner.  He’s got kids. His health is top priority to him. He’d rather focus on Charlie’s golf than his own.

I voted commissioner. Though maybe he would also tee it up on the champions tour once in a while. A playing commissioner, that would be one for the record books :)

I went with Champions Tour because he can take a cart. He can shoot 7-under in his sleep with a cart, but as soon as he introduces walking, it becomes a grind again. And I would definitely start watching Champions Tour events if Tiger was in the field!

I do think it's possible he becomes commissioner, but isn't it more likely he devotes time to his family, business and charity pursuits post-playing career? I'm not sure it's worth it to him to give up so much of his time to oversee the PGA Tour, but I could be wrong.

Tiger is too much of a competitor to go the commissioner route. I see him playing champions tour occasionally and spending time with his family and business interests.

I voted Champion's Tour. Let alone the fact that he may not even be qualified for the job of commissioner, it's way too much of a time commitment, and he doesn't need the money or fame. Why would he possibly want that job?

I think I could see Tiger as commissioner considering he seems to be more of an active leader/wise elder these days with promoting the new elevated PGAT events, and the TMRW golf thing with Rory.

I’d say commissioner. He knows his limits. With TGR already going, I’d say he could a lot of good as commissioner. I’m sure he wants to play, but it’s showing all the time how little mobility he really has.

So I think…

  • There's a chance he plays like a U.S. Senior Open, the Senior PGA, etc. That counts as the Champions Tour.
  • There's no chance he becomes the commissioner. He's an athlete, and though he went to Stanford, he's not a lawyer or a policy guy or whatever. So I think there's very little chance of that. If he was, it'd be as a figurehead of sorts.

If he was to be more involved with the PGA Tour, I'd rather guess a promotional figure or collaborator behind the scenes of things. Like he's done recently with the new concepts on the tour.

I voted commissioner before reading any posts. It seemed that he was angling for a leadership role with his role in the LIV debacle.

Not sure if he said it verbatim or someone paraphrased him but it was something to the effect of 'yall ruining my legacy'. So he cares about that kinda stuff. He may not be a policy guy but I think he has quite a bit of organizational experience with his own company.

I say he has CEO designs and chops for it.

Another "neither" vote!  Why would he want the hassle of commissioner and his legs cannot holdout for long for the Champions tour.

    • The highlights as I see them: Championship and Challenger Series The creation of the PGA Tour and the PGB Tour, in the words of Joel Dahmen a few years ago. They're calling them the Championship Series (23-24 events) and the Challenger Series (20+ events). Both run February to August. They feel this will achieve three things: increasing the consistency and quality of fields across the season creating a clear system for players to earn and retain status and delivering a more structured and competitive experience for fans and partners—all in an effort to strengthen meritocracy. Championship Series Structure and Eligibility The 23-24 events includes the Players, majors, season-ending events, and the Presidents Cup and Ryder Cup. These will be 72-hole events with a 36-hole cut to the top 65 and ties and purses of $20M+. 120 players without an alternate list. 90 players (roughly) from the previous year and 20 players promoted from the Challenger Series. Full eligibility will be finalized later this year. Sites (cities) to be finalized soon, but 10 of the 15 courses have already been determined. Postseason: includes retention and relegation and concludes with match play. The Tour Championship will also be played across a rotation of prestigious courses. Challenger Series Structure and Eligibility 20+ events. Running concurrently. Will feature players fighting their way back to the Championship Series or players graduating and on the upswing from the Korn Ferry Tour. Many of these events will be current PGA Tour courses. About 7 of the Challenger Series events will be during off weeks for the Championship Series with elevated purses and visibility. Purses of at least $4M, with cuts similar to the Champ series. 144 player fields. Competitive Fields for Both Series Players will be eligible for only one series at a time: Championship Series Players are not eligible for Challenger Series events. Championship Series members will have a known schedule with all events having the same eligibility. Players and Majors will have their own eligibility criteria. Championship Series players don't have to play all events. This begs the question about, say, the Canadian Open, and other "home-town" events that players might want to play, even if they're Challenger Series events. Will releases be granted? Promotion and Relegation At least 90 players will be retained in the Championship Series, and 20 players will be promoted from the Challenger Series each year. Battlefield promotion for two-time winners from the Challenger Series. Players relegated from the Championship Series will have a "last chance" opportunity to retain status, or will go to the Challenger Series. Criteria will be finalized before the start of the 2027 season. Points System New points system (not FedExCup points). Separate points systems for the Championship and Challenger Series. Elevated points in the Challenger Series for off-weeks on the Championship Series. More details tk. Elevated International Events in the Fall The fall schedule will include a limited series of elevated international events with top players from the Championship Series, with the intent to deliver in partnership with the DP World Tour as part of the Strategic Alliance. Last Chance Series The Tour will develop a “last chance” series of 4-6 events in the fall, with a limited number of spots on the Championship Series available for top finishers. Eligibility will include players relegated from the Championship Series, Challenger Series players, and other categories to be determined. Q-School continues, as do the Korn Ferry Tour and PGA Tour Latinoamerica. Also, Brian Rolapp is the new commissioner as of January 1, 2027.

    • Yes, because you have lifted to like 120° without bending the left elbow. So when you turn and the left elbow bends… it bends in such a way that you then lower your left humerus and pull the club around you.
