I got laughed at when i made the prediction that USA was in trouble a couple of weeks ago. I made a comment that Vegas was going strong for Europe. I was given a rash of shite from a bunch of people here. Well looks like this thing will over sooner than later.

You "were given a rash of shite" because you claimed that Vegas had Europe as the favorite, which wasn't factually accurate as I pointed out to you on Sept 1st.

What sportsbook? I haven't seen any sportsbooks that have Europe as favorites let alone "solid" favorites.

Fanduel has US as -125 favorites

bet365 has US as -138 favorites

Draftkings has US as -140 favorites

betMGM has US as -125 favorites

Can you please stop making claims that aren't based on facts?

I'm still waiting for you to provide facts that show how Finau's game is on the rise right now while Spieth's is not.

Well I think the JT pick controversy is put to bed regardless of how this turns out.  Having to come out down 4-0 in a must win match, and he's pretty much single handedly fending off Hovland/Hatton who are playing well.

I'd also add, in any sport, if you're going to be down big, it's better to be down big early.

Well JT could go 0-for the rest of the way and his pick was justified.  He just played 1 on 2 for 18 holes against the guy arguably playing the best golf on the Euro team right now, and took half a point, and nearly a full point.

I don’t really see a way back for the US right now. They really needed to claw some points back but they’re going to be 4 back at best after today.

If they can claw 2 points back tomorrow to get within 2 heading into Sunday I think there's still a chance for the US.

There are sooo many points available on Sunday.

Plus in this afternoon session there were some things that Europe got a bit "lucky" with that I don't think are sustainable, it was basically JT alone vs Viktor and Tyrell the last 6+ holes, Rahm chipped in twice and made a 30+ footer that would have run 5+ feet by, and even with all that the best Europe could do in those matches is halve them.

I liked what I saw from the US team this afternoon especially from JT, Scotty, Brooks, and Clark and think they'll be able to edge their way a bit closer tomorrow.

There's 20 points left the next two days.  I think the US is still a pretty big favorite in singles, as they're much stronger top to bottom.  They also only need 14 vs. 14.5 to retain the cup.

Also this camera work on 18 is awful.

It will be interesting to see how the US responds.  They need to go back regroup, and come out with a lot more fire than what they showed today.  If I'm ZJ, I'm loading up that morning session tomorrow with my top players across the board.  You can't play Spieth in the morning session but I'd roll out your best combos of the following:

Scottie

Brooks

Cantlay

Xander

Homa

Morikawa

JT

Clark/Rickie (I would have went just Clark here, but he really folded at the end today)

Frankly I think you need to roll that out (maybe go back to Spieth for 4 ball) in the afternoon as well. Harman and Burns need to sit tomorrow IMO.

Tough that the US lost the 18th hole 3 straight times to halve all of those matches. I still think they need to be within 2 or 2.5 after tomorrow to have a chance on Sunday so they'll need to get 5.5-6+ points tomorrow.

Today wasn't that far at all from ending 5-3 Europe.

Rickie wasn't good today. Clark was much better (even with his poor approach and chip on 18)

Agreed all around.  That last spot (especially for the morning) is debatable.  I would have just had Clark, but he really folded on 17 & 18.

It is what it is, but again there's 20 points still up for grabs, and the US again is the favorite in singles just on depth of talent (obviously can change depending on how matchups shake out).   Hopefully these guys go back, and come out pissed off at the performance today.  The good news is that I don't think the Euros can play as out of their minds as they did today (Rahm holed out an insane amount today).  The bad news is that they don't have to play that well to win it at this point.

The Massacre at Marco Simone….is this the first time that the US did not finish with at least one win?

    • So, Brendan Sorsby, Texas Tech transfer QB, was found guilty of sports betting by the NCAA. He admitted to it. He placed thousands of bets over multiple years while at Indiana and Cincinnati. This included betting on his own teams.  The NCAA rules ban athletes from betting on any sport (college or pro).  A retired visiting judge from Tarrant County, Texas has put an injunction on the NCAA ruling. He is a visiting judge because the first judge was a graduate and big fan of Texas Tech, and he recused himself. The judged ruled the following... "Under Curry's order, Sorsby is permitted to play for Texas Tech's 2026 season on the condition that he continues his treatment for a gambling and anxiety disorder and serves a two-game suspension (missing games against Abilene Christian and Oregon State)."  Don't get me wrong, I don't particularly care for the NCAA. That still doesn't mean that a college can choose when or where to say, "Yea we agree to these rules for all our sports, well except in this case." Here is a breakdown from S&W. The Hidden Weapon in Sorsby’s Injunction: How a Lubbock County Court Order Quietly Neutralized the NCAA’s Most Powerful Enforcement Tool - Law Offices of Snell & Wilmer By Ryan J. Regula On June 8, 2026, Lubbock County District Court Judge Ken Curry issued a temporary injunction in Brendan Sorsby v. National Collegiate Athletic Association, Cause No. DC-2026-CV-0791 (99th Judicial District... The main judgement made sense. Sorsby, I am going to have all this harm done to me if I don't get to play. The Judge, I agree. The penalty for gambling is too harsh, so here are all these things you must do, and I will grant this injunction against the NCAA. Basically, an analogy would be when a person goes into court for a DUI and they agree to all these other things to not end up in jail.  What sucks for the NCAA is the NCAA has appealed to Texas’ Seventh Court of Appeals, based in Amarillo. All four justices that preside over the court are graduates of Texas Tech University School of Law. It would be hilarious if all four of them had to recuse themselves 🤣. For those who like to read legal rulings...
    • The chatter in my brain is when the distance is between clubs since I am pretty weak at shortened backswings, etc. I try to simply decide if being long or short is the better outcome and choose my club based on that and simply not even try for the “real” distance.  For me a full normal swing is what I strive for.
    • I saw this comment made in a golf article... "Most golfers stand over a 4- or 5-iron still negotiating with themselves. They think about how hard to swing, whether they have the right club, if they have the aim correct and more. It’s a lot to deal with and long irons punish the “half-in” golf swing." I am not sure the "most golfers" is correct regarding the bolded part. I can understand if there is a bunker, water, and/or OB that a lot of golfers would be fixated on that. I am not sure that leads to ending up more times there. Pending your level in golf, the variance is so large in outcomes, it could be just with in the expected outcomes. I can understand if have a big lake on the right side of the hole being one of the most terrifying shots for right-handed amateur golfers.  I am not sure many golfers are standing over the ball talking to themselves, "Ok, maybe I should step back and pull the 4-iron. Am I lined up right? Oh, the wind came up, should I swing harder? What am I going to have for dinner tonight, maybe steak. (Joking, somewhat 😛)" A question is that how much chatter do you get while standing over the ball. Are you questioning the everything about your golf shot?
