I prefer the look of the prior version better.  Regardless, the MTB Black was my go to ball so I’m interested in trying the Prime.  But, I need to get through the 15 dozen ZStars and ProV1s I’ve been gifted over the past few months before putting in an order.

In the meantime, curious to read everyone’s thoughts.

I have primarily used Snell golf balls since they launched and obviously became a huge fan! Bought 4 dozen Maxfli Tour X when Snell had some supply issues last year and I was down to my last dozen of MTB X. Long story short, I have at least 4 dozen balls on hand and don’t want to add a third ball to the mix! I don’t play enough to shuffle between that many balls and I prize consistency more than anything from golf balls. Look forward to reading your reviews!

Same here. Played Snell MTB Black and X and then bought a couple dozen Maxfli Tour X's at $30 a dozen. Also bought some Oncore as I live in the Buffalo, NY area. Will be using these this spring. May go back to Snell.

I’ve played one round with both balls, but still don’t have enough experience with each to fully comment. It was windy and cold. But I will say that the Prime ball seems to spin more around the greens with chips than the Prime-X. Today I did about 20 minutes on a practice green and the Prime seemed to check up more.

I only got the Prime-X. They’re just fine for me. I have no issues spinning the ball around the greens when I hit it clean 😉

I think the Prime would spin too much for my liking.

So far I like how the ball plays. The only complaint I might have is the cover is a little on the soft side. I’ve torn a couple of balls already with my wedges.

I’m switching to the Prime. The Prime-X rolls a little too much for me on flighted shots and I find myself hitting them much more often into greens these days.

I guess that’s Tiger’s philosophy on golf ball selection, right? You can always take spin off a shot but it’s harder to add spin if you need to.

I would agree with this. Being a high launch lower spin for irons, I like the more spin.

Even with more spin I don’t see myself spinning the ball back off a green or something, but I do want my ball to stop faster when I hit a 3/4 shot instead of landing pin high and rolling 20’ past it.

Yea, with 3/4 shots, you are taking spin off so it is about decent angle.

Yeah you always want a decent angle on the descent. 😘

This is why I like VICE balls, they've greatly improved their covers so they're more durable. Every bit the ball that Snell is but even cheaper

I had the Get Sum's but I just ordered the test pack to try out. I like the Get Sum's. I have ordered balls and then a hat. Their stuff gets to me in about three days. Unbelievable.

I’ve been playing snell exclusively for 3-4 years.  The latest model seems much less durable.  I getting a lot of cuts and scuffs after a few holes.

I did don’t like the Prime-X because the cover is too soft. I cut the cover on partial wedge shots from the fairway.

So far the Prime is pretty good. I managed to play with the same ball for almost two rounds now (that might be a PR 😉).

EMERGENCY ALERT!!

The "THANKYOU20" is still working over at Snell. 20% off code.

So with the current sale, and the code, I got Prime X's at 22 bucks.

Just ordered the grey Branded Bills hat and got 7 bucks off that, so the code is working at the time of this post.

I am debating on using the code and getting the Value pack. I do not necessarily need balls at the moment, but that is a hard deal to pass up.

Good feedback. I saw a promotion in my inbox that had the X at under $22 per dozen and the regular at about $27 per dozen. That was the unit price for a quantity for 5 dozen. Was interested, but it left me wondering if there was something wrong with the Xs. Sounds like there might be
