I would never be a member of a club that excluded anyone on the basis of sex, race,or religon, but if a private club wants to discriminate, that's up to them.

Wasn't Augusta National a men's only club until just recently?  They never had a Ryder Cup or any other 'public' event, did they?  And when will Augusta start construction on the swimming pools, tennis courts and expanded powder rooms for the ladies?

Women weren't banned from Augusta, only from becoming full members. LPGA pro's play there quite often, Family outings are a regular occurrence there as well.

I don't see what the big issue is. Here in Evanston (suburb of Chicago) we have a women's club. It's for women only. No one complains about it, especially men because men don't want to be there. Once again, it's for women only. Since when did it become a bad thing to have a club for men (or women)? We're talking about recreation, people, get a grip.

I was trying to make the point that those of you using derogatory names for a men-only club might think twice before applying the same treatment to a women-only club. Now I see how misguided I was.

Part of belonging to a private club is to develop business / political connections, the other part is to escape from every day life and have some "me" time.

Women bring drama to a club, men typically get along well but add women to the mix and suddenly there's drama.  Plus for all you haters of slow play, the women at my club average 5+ hour rounds because they spend more time chatting than golfing.

Does Butler National allow women to use the course and other club facilities? I know that some clubs only allow men to be members, but dependents can use the club like they are members.

Per this link , the answer is no.

I'm now thinking of this old Three Stooges short The W-H Club Suppose a member snuck a woman onto the course, had her smoke cigars and tell raunchy jokes to fit in.

I couldn't find time to get to the range today.  I spent time on the indoor putting mat.  And I spent time in front of the mirror with my 7 iron.       Slight digression on the way to my point. Back in the day there were a lot of people who said that Tiger won because of “the Tiger effect” where people pushed too hard and made mistakes trying to catch him and fell by the wayside. I thought that was BS. It was just that he was that much better than them. I don’t think anything has changed my mind on that.    The hype about Miles Russell is very limited. I’ve seen nothing about him outside of some fairly hardcore golf websites. But I think that the reason those people are talking about him is because he is very good. Same as Tiger. And like I said he just broke one of Tiger’s records. That gets hardcore golf fans to pay attention.
