If Steve Stricker ends up winning the FedEx Cup without a win this year, the trophy should be thrown in a tub of hydrofluoric acid.

Yeah, just like when someone wins a tournament without shooting the low round on any of the four days--what a fraud.

Good analogy, but I don't see it as quite the same in my mind.  One reason that the points are re-set prior to the Tour Championship is to increase the chances of the TC winner being the FEC winner (and to eliminate the possibility that the FEC is decided before the TC).

Stricker has had a VERY GOOD year- #2 in scoring average with 3+ less tournaments than anyone else in the TC.  I don't think it will happen, but if he took the Cup without winning the entire season, it would seem wrong.
FWIW, Stricker benefited slightly from the points reset (going from 1172 to 1100 back) while the guys 2-5 actually got hurt by the reset as the top 5 were pretty close going into the TC.

I disagree. In order for Stricker to win it, he needs certain people to play pretty poorly. For me, the FECC is all about consistency. And even without a win, he's clearly been consistent. And finishing #2 while everyone else crumbles just proves that consistency.

I understand what you are saying, but the FEC is not entirely about consistency as the points for the playoff events are worth 5x the regular and everyone resets in the TC so a guy automatically jumps from 5th to 1st with a win even if he was much less consistent.

If it was just about consistency, then Tiger might already have it locked with the low scoring average.

Anyone know about live streaming- there is a link for it on pgatour.com but it then asks me to sign into google and then gives me a message my account isn't set up for adsense?

Tiger seems to be doing a bit better with the driver today. Just saw he had a 352 yd drive on 9 via the shot tracker. Not doing all that great on approach shots today still though. Lot of 20+ foot putts.

I saw it assessed. but I did not see the actual occurrence as they did not show it. Simpson's ball moved after he addressed it in the right rough on hole number 7. He immediately self reported it. No footage  as best I can tell.

Wow. Tiger played horribly.  Just looking at his game today it's very very hard to see him as #1 player. Adam looked superb for his mid irons and putting

Adam Scott's currently at the top, Tiger and Phil are near the bottom. I don't have a worse nightmare outcome for this event than the current situation. At least Stricker is near the top.

Tiger near the bottom ensures that we won't be forced to watch every grimace, scowl, wince, flinch, whine and cheat that comes out of him. I consider that a win for everyone. ;-D

Oh, I think you will see every swing. There are only 30 players. Only a handful will be in contention, so there will be plenty of time to see all of Woods' shots.

    • Option one. Would like an ace even if it’s a worm burner. Have witnessed a couple of aces so would like to be on the other end.
    • OK - I think we should narrow down a weekend, and start there.  We're going to try to do this in June. I've created a Doodle poll where everyone can vote for the options that work for them.  Please include your username so I can track/post results. Doodle Doodle is the simplest way to schedule meetings with clients, colleagues, or friends. Find the best time for one-to-ones and team meetings with our user-friendly calendar tool. Get started today! (I only put in the Saturday dates, but assume the outing would include Friday - Sunday). Once we select a date that works for the most people, I'll start to line up courses and schedule and go from there.
    • Option #2 because I'd add the condition that it's in a tournament. Because that'd mean I'd break par in a tournament. And I already have a hole in one.
    • Hole in one is nice, but those low rounds stick in my memory better. I have two holes in one (and a third on a pitch and putt course which I count as a half). I've shot in the 60s three times in the last 10 years or so and I remember each one pretty well. I'd take the low round.
    • Would You Rather #68: Would you rather make a hole-in-one on a perfectly struck shot, during a round where you otherwise played pretty poorly.  or  Would you rather play well all day and beat your personal best by let's say 3 strokes, but with no eagles.    I'd take option 2.   Although option 1 is always exciting, and rewarding. playing well all day is very exciting because I can also do the opposite.
